While Penélope Cruz is typically private, she recently opened up in a whole new way. In her January cover story for Allure magazine (which hits newsstands on Dec. 24), she talks how she and her husband, Javier Bardem, have always wanted kids, with her maternal instinct stemming from being raised in a tight-knit family. "I always knew I wanted a family because of the way I grew up," she says. "Family has always been the most important thing."
Motherhood has changed a lot for Penélope, and she isn't willing to let Hollywood influence her figure; in fact, she's eating more than ever postbaby to fuel her surprising addiction. "I'm supposed to get extra calories because breastfeeding you burn, like, an extra 500 a day," she reveals. "I was breastfeeding my son 13 months, and I plan to do the same with my daughter. [Nursing] is addictive. It's hard when the day comes when you have to stop." Though she didn't reveal more details about her kids (nearly 3-year-old Leo and 5-month-old Luna), based on a fun story from her childhood, they have a lot to look forward to — even cleaning! "In my house every Sunday, everybody was cleaning the house. There was always music, and everybody was dancing, sometimes naked, around the house. Not hippie, but very free."
