Jessica Simpson played hostess to her friends and family last night in NYC as she showed off new designs from her Jessica Simpson Collection. Her pals like CaCee Cobb and sister Ashlee were among those who were styled in items from the latest installment of her line, and the ladies all showed off their styles while dancing to the tunes of the "best DJ ever," Pete Wentz. Tina Simpson was there as well, but Jess stayed close to her boyfriend, Eric Johnson, whenever she was able to break free of her official duties. Eric hung close to Pete while Jess mingled with editors and reporters, but he was happy to provide some adorable PDA for a photo. Jessica spoke with us about how her style has evolved over the years from her pleather onstage costumes to her current, more polished all-American look, and she also revealed her serious weakness for shoes — she just emptied her closest of 21 boxes worth of stuff, but not one pair of shoes was among the items she passed on to friends! Gwen Stefan and Gavin Rossdale were front and center in Queens, NY last night cheering on Roger Federer as he defeated Austria’s Jurgen Melzer advancing to the quarterfinals of the US Open. Gavin spent the afternoon in Manhattan with Roger before his match then caught up with Gwen and the boys for an afternoon of face painting and family time in the Big Apple. Gwen's relaxing and enjoying time with her family before she switches into full on fashion mode. On Friday she's debuting her new scent, Wicked Style, at Fashion's Night Out. Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz enjoyed date night at yesterday's big game and it turns out she'll also be involved with NYC Spring Fashion Week supporting her sister and she'll even be modeling some of the items from the Jessica Simpson Collection later today.
Alex Rodriguez watched the match from the front row while his girlfriend Cameron Diaz kept her distance. The two were spotted out celebrating her 38th birthday earlier in the week but aren't yet ready to go fully public with their relationship. A-Rod isn't the only Yankees tennis fan, as his teammate Derek Jeter took in the action on Saturday with his lady Minka Kelly.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz checked out of their NYC hotel yesterday with their son, Bronx. The trio spent the last week in the Big Apple while Pete finished up work on his first Black Cards album. Pete and his new band also got together to play a show, and Ashlee already seems like their biggest fan. The Simpson-Wentzes flew back to LA last night, and Ashlee had the option of picking up some sisterly inflight reading.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz took turns pushing Bronx's stroller in NYC yesterday, with mom handling the morning walk and dad taking over later in the afternoon. The trio left LA last week and headed to the East Coast, where Pete's been finishing up his latest album, enjoying family time, and checking out concerts. The family is used to hanging out in the Big Apple after their long stay last Winter while Ashlee was performing on Broadway, and it seems like a perfect place for a sophisticated child like Bronx.

Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz, and their son, Bronx, met up with her parents, Tina and Joe, for a trip to the beach in LA Sunday. Jessica wasn't able to join them since she was busy making out with her Yalie, Eric Johnson, in NYC. Their budding relationship seems to be going well, and Ashlee recently told us she's thrilled to see Jess happy. Ashlee, Pete, and Bronx took a cue from Jess and headed East themselves yesterday — they left California for the Big Apple so Pete can put the finishing touches on his first Black Cards album.
