Everybody should have the right to keep this kind of information private. Heck, I waited till 16 weeks to tell anyone aside from close family.

I think it's your choice if you want to keep your pregnancy quiet as long as possible. Just because celebrities are in the public eye doesn't mean they owe it to us to tell us the minute they find out they're pregnant.

Lots of non-parents grasp this. Maybe it's just lost on someone as self absorbed as Gisele. I just hope she doesn't go into some super-mom ego trip and start trying to dictate John's life, once she has a moment of real mom experience.

Stop cherry-picking her words. From the start of her statement she clearly acknowledged the child IS NOT hers. She said. “I understand HE HAS A MOTHER, and I respect that, but to me it’s not like because somebody else delivered him, that’s not my child. I feel it is 100 %”. I want him to have a great relationship with his mom, because that’s important, but I love him the same way AS IF he were mine. I already FEEL LIKE he’s my son, from the first day. “

Had a man said that, women would have been drooling that a man loves another man’s child. But a woman? Oh no. The claws come out full length. She must want to steal another woman’s baby. The pettiness and cattiness of women never ceases to amaze me.

It seems to me they wanted her to say “I hate him because I didn’t give birth to him, and yes I’m going to treat him as a stepchild”. That would have made them happy because it’s petty and catty...

well said nadiap. I too did not think her comments were out of line. it's awesome for them because she will be in his life and to have those maternal feelings for him can only benefit the child.

I completely agree with nadiap. I think it's nice that Gisele cares about John and does not just think of him as a stepson. John knows that Bridget is his mother and Gisele is not trying to disparage their mother/son relationship, she just says that she loves John as if he were her own. I don't think a child can have too much love.

Some people's reactions make me wonder if this whole debacle happened to them in real life, and they are just projecting their own emotions. It's not as if Tom left Bridget for Gisele, they BROKE UP. After he began dating Gisele, Bridget found out that she was pregnant. I agree that Tom jumped back into the dating scene very quickly after his break-up with Bridget, but what did you expect him to do once Bridget found out that she was pregnant? Leave Gisele? If Tom and Bridget still loved each other and wanted to be together, then they would be the ones who are married right now.
