Angelina Jolie Arrives in Haiti to Lend Her Help

I really want to like Angelina, but she has been looking terrible lately. her hair looks so thin, and she is terribly gaunt and tired looking. I love how involved she is in all of these good causes, and I guess that is more important than being beautiful, but come on! She's a movie star.

She truly has a passion for giving and being involved in humanitarian efforts.

And it looks like she's pretty much wearing the same thing she wore to the Super Bowl. Looks like she knows how to travel light. I'm glad to see that she's traveling to Haiti and reminding us that there is still much work to be done.

She has become such an interesting and committed person. Love that she does excellent work in films, and that supports her humanitarian work. Brilliant. Inspiring.

Cfp, you really want to like her, but can't because she looks gaunt? I can like people who aren't perfectly beautiful as long as they are decent on the inside. And, Angelina is getting older, she's not going to be pretty forever.

I think she is trying to shift her goals more toward her humanitarian work and away from acting and Hollywood. I think the humanitarian work is where her heart truly lies these days. She has been looking very thin for awhile now, but I still think she's beautiful because of the work she does to help the world.

I love it! She must have spent hours on the plane looking in the mirror practicing her favourite "holier than thou charity face" she so loves to give the little people and the photo ops this serene faace...ya big fake! Isn't this the first "posed" celeb Haiti photos and of course they come from her, she's got the rights for them no doubt.

i don't understand why ppl hate on angelina unless her charity work, beautiful family, fame and wealth makes them feel bad about their own lack luster lives. whenever i see articles like this; i'm inspired by Angelina's compassion and feel like i need to do more. remember ppl whatever goes around comes around; do good and good things will come to you. spread the love!

But no, weeks and weeks after medical crews, civilians, doctors, thousands of volunteers and celebrities have dedicated money and time to Haiti, there she goes to shine in a spotlight.

I'm all for helping Haiti but does she really need to make it so public? I know she's involved with UN, but knowing her status... why go through photo shoots. She does great humanitarian work, but sometimes it makes you wonder... it's just my opinion. I think Angelina does great work, but I wonder if sometimes she is really helping out the situation or helping herself?

What a great woman. I worship this great lady. I love her with all my heart soul and more. I bequeath my heart and soul to Lady Angelina. I hope she becomes the sole and whole leader of the world. I sure she will give soothing touch to Al quadea and muslims and make them see light.

She is too ugly to be in UN, I wish beautiful ladies like Halle Berry or Beyonce take to Humanitarianism. Wait a sec....Halle and Beyonce already donate tons of money to charities without cameras stuck on their faces. May be UN should hire Angie rival in attention whoring, Jen would look great in a Bikini, we would be spared the horror of looking at a skeltor.

yea saints these days u know they like to cut themselves and their partners in their private time, they like to fly while heavily pregnant, u know who cares about the baby, i’m a saint, i can do what i want, they like to dress their female kid in all male clothing, they’ve stolen husbands from two different wives, they also make out with their brother (check google, scary stuff), they also wear vials of blood, say that monogamy is not important, buy their kids knives to play with..but besides that, they have extreme powers of instant transformation..so one minute they’re smearing blood on their shirt, next minute, they’re gazing into the clouds, with such serenity and peace, it would make god blush… aww saints these days…what a naughty bunch.

she's not a very good actress, because people who are genuine can actually move their face, she just has that one face she does over and over again...it's that i'm glowing face...

She is a UN Ambassador. They send a camera so they can bring awareness. She wasn't there in the first wave because her specialty with UNHCR is displaced people/refugees not disaster relief. She has visited over 20 countries and been to refugee camps all over the world..you could say she has experience with this sort of long term care. She observes, reports findings and recommendations back to the UNHCR and attempts to keep public focus on the issue by doing so.

Although she was one of the first to donate money to Haiti.. she waited until the initial emergency response was over so not to interfere. Now she is there to see how the camps are being set up, how the displaced children are being cared for and how they might be reunited with any surviving family members.

She visited SOS and then made sure to reinforce the message that no new adoptions should be used to fix the problem. Funding is needed to keep the children there in their country safe and supervised until all avenues of finding family have been exhausted. Child trafficking for organs, sex and illegal adoption is at an all time high for Haiti.

Also she can better coordinate how to get supplies to the orphanages having been on the ground and having seen the conditions since she donates additional funds and supplies to just about every area she visits first hand per the UNHCR site.

But for the haters it is simply an attempt to gain public favor, child shop, and over shadow bad tabloid rumors. Wouldn't it be easier to just sit pool side in Mexico and donate the proceeds for a movie then actually go and face 10 year old amputees and orphans? Less messy, smelly and dangerous.. much easier to get a tan and your drink on in Mexico.

Just imagine folks (not, you Loons) how much money was spent to get this skank to Haiti. Airfare, security, assistants etc. If she was who she clains she is, she would choose to send that money to people. But let's not forget. It's Angelina's show. Me me me me me... I wait patiently for her to say that she solved Haiti problem. Btw, it was just released that John Travolta has been flying in food to Haiti for weeks..Charity is possible when no one is looking..

Actually John Travolta made one trip in with supplies and a gaggle of Scientology ministers to heal Haitians with touch therapy, vitamins and exercise and the cameras were there to catch him and the wife in the pilot/copilot seats.

Jolie pays for all her own expenses while traveling on missions for the UNHCR per the UNHCR. And has already donated to Doctors Without Borders, Yele Haiti and SOS. There will more then likely be another announcement for a donation to the UNHCR special funds for the camps being created in Haiti soon.
