Angelina Brings Her Goodwill and Smiles to Kenya

Angelina Jolie emerged over the weekend to continue her work as UN Goodwill Ambassador, this time with a trip to a Somalian refugee camp in Dadaab, Kenya, on Saturday. Her visit was scheduled to draw public attention to the area, where men, women, and children are living in horrible conditions. Angelina has been laying low with her family in France, but she keeps her philanthropic work a priority in her life with frequent trips to areas she feels need attention. While in Kenya she listened to people's stories throughout the day, and spoke out on their behalf to the media.

I think Angie is the only Hollywodd star taking the charity work seriously. The others are doing it only from time to time, once in years, and only for publicity. Seeing her I focus more on the problem and that's the target of her role: attract attention on what is going on in Africa. The problem is that Africa's misery is so huge and vaste, that can not be ruled by only one person, here is needed much more and more "Jolie"s. So go ahead, girl, Love you, Erika

Its all there for you to read in black and white, might help with your confusion, lol. Read a newspaper or maybe even read the article you just posted on. Awareness of what? You cannot be serious. I'm willing to bet all these comments about her being thin and to eat a sandwich are coming from large and in charge women. Just because y'all like to stuff your faces with ho-ho's and twinkies doesn't mean everyone else wants to. She's always been thin, nothing new. I'm sure if she gained a few y'all would mention how fat she's getting. Is calling her skinny supposed to be an insult? Keep on all you want, its not gonna make YOU any thinner. Jealousy is ugly. As far as her helping those in need, what is the problem? Yes, its a photo op haters, she's bringing awareness to their issues, states it right in the article. Probably should read what you're commenting on, no? Anyways, this beautiful, talented, giving, and yes, thin woman is nothing short of amazing! I have always admired Angie for her charity work. This is her 10th yr of travelling across the world to bring attention in this case to the very sad situation in Somalia. It's heartbreaking. I think it helps b/c for alot of us who think just a few bucks is not enough IT Definetley IS so it's easy to send something no matter how small or big and feel like you have tried to help out in some way. When you do good you feel good about yourself. Thats how it works and Angie loves giving of herself to the underprivledged who actually don't have a clue who she is. Bless her she has a heart of gold.

I'm sure #60 is on Vicki Beckham, J-Lo, Kate Hudson, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett's case just as much as she is Angie's. I'm sure she didn't mean that Mothers shouldn't work, or pursue interests, other than spending every waking hour with their children.

You would never see any refugees if someone did not bring to our attention. Look at comment #50. That is where most people are in regard to the abysmal situation that is going on RIGHT NOW. Really sad. Obviously #50 you are in the wrong place go and find Fashion Week.

I do think its worth saying she looks less well nourished than the people we are supposed to feel bad for, but she does genuinely seem to do this for right reasons. Using star power to bring publicity is good, if she did all this without photographers she is not drawing maximum attention to the cause surely? Also when she started this, UN ambassador was was not as de regeuer as it is today

Angelina is a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR. The United Nations High Commissioner for REFUGEES. Billions haven't been sent to refugees. Quite the contrary. Any goodwill ambassador is supposed to being awareness though their activities. If you don't want to see the refugees or AJ with the refugees what are you doing on this thread?

"I can't find anything wrong with anything she's doing in these pictures." Well, since we don't know her motives it's hard to judge. But I cannot see anything extremely good there either. I am not moved whatsoever by these pictures. I'd much prefer to see these people sans the celebrity!
