i'm going to be ill from some of these comments. in any event, i think that it's good that she's got her head in the right place about causes to focus on, and hopefully it can raise awareness. this is somethign that goes on all over the world.

I don't see how anyone could find anything negative to say about this. I am sure Angelina and Brad's kids are all being well cared for. Rather than ONLY using her famous profile to show off, she is using it to draw public awareness and media attention to this trial- which IS a very big deal and a landmark case in international children's rights ( what few they even have) She is doing nothing but good by being there, and as so many other selfish spoiled celebrates show us, she certainly doesn't have to. I say good for her- I'll be watching to see what the outcome of this trial is now

The timing of these "selfless" acts never ceases to amaze me. Giving money to charity the week you have a movie coming out. A photo-op the day before Brad's move premieres at Cannes. It's like when Tom Cruise started conveniently saving people's the week he had a move out, five movies in a row. I can't believe their fans don't notice they are being played by the ultimate PR masters.

I think it's fantastic that she is involved in humanitarian work, but this seems like nothing more than a photo op. Her presence there can do nothing to change the situation and the outcome of the trial. She is definitely a master at PR. Kudos.

I just wanted to say this is very cool that she is attending such a trial, tho I can't see what difference her presence will make. But if it draws attention to the cause, that is great.

People how can it be a PR stunt when she is not he one in control of the court or trial date for this man and also isn't it obvious that she has to be in the cannes to support her which all know that they always make it a point that they do. Angie is a PR genius. Anyone who criticizes her for these photo-ops gets shouted down. At least she is helping people. She could be walking down a red carpet. Blah, blah blah. She has to do these humanitarian things. it's makes up for the fact that she is a manipulative jerk who exploits helpless people to make herself look good. I don't doubt that she cares about these people, but always having a camera there to photograph every 'selfless' deed is ridiculous. Sandra Bullock gave $1 million to Katrina victims and somehow managed to do this without giving a million interviews about it.

It's funny to read that she's doing this to promote a movie that's not even hers or for PR purposes only. Timing isn't everything. She marches at the beat of her own drum, not anybody else's. By the way, Brad and Angelina don't need more publicity. Everything they do is magnified, inspected, dissected and critized ad naseum WITHOUT them lifting a finger. If it was just for PR, all she needed to do was put on a T-Shirt with the name of the cause and walk around - the paps would do the rest.

We all know that Angie and Brad do no call the papparrazzi and ask them to take pics of them but the paps are the one that always follow every detail because of the fact that may people find them interesting thats why they get followed up a lot and their info leaked. Unlike other celebs like Sandra Bullock we appreciate what she also did but most fans love her but there is just something about Brangelina that makes most of u idolize them something special we can't put our finger on that makes us love them more and find them fascinating.

As Angelina's fan I know that part of her charity work over the years has been getting lawyers for children without and I know this holds a special place in her heart to see one of the scumbags go down like I said. Her tattoo below her neck "know Your Rights" stems from this issue of children and other 3rd world people not knowing their rights. I am just happy to see this all coming to fruition. This will set a prescient in children being used for war. A war Angelina has been a champion of for years.

I don't know what annoys me more, Angie's shamelessness or how gullible her fans are. That second photo looks like a work of art you would see in Vogue magazine, not a random photo taken at a trial. All of the people she and Brad claim to care about are still in the same mess they've always been in. The refugees in Iraq are still refugees. The people in New Orleans are still waiting for their homes-- two years later. I admire celebs who use their money and charity to help others, not to help themselves and their image.

When there's pics with her kids you say she's using the kids. When she's trying to do good for the world's kids, you say where's her kids. Its a no-win situation. For you who call this just 'a trial' or other ignorant comment, you have no idea what this trial really is about. You would be physically ill if you had to hear what some of these kids have been forced to do. These are not fake or pseudo humanitarian efforts by Angie - you don't get invited to The Hague for a photo op and you don't get to be a UN Ambassador because you have a film to promote. I don't even want to know who is watching the six kids while these two are doing their photo-op/press release tour in Europe. The twins are nine months old and Mommy has been on a film set 16 hours a day for the last three months. What kind of parenting is this? Celebrity parenting? She has children but doesn't seem to mother them, the nannies and limo drivers do. At least that's what a friend who has been working on SALT with her told me.

Just an FYI to the person who said that she wrote an op-ed on this subject. Celebs and other notables do not write their own op-eds, they hire people who do it for them. I know because I am one such person. I don't write op-eds for celebs, but do write them for some industry leaders.

First, Angie could find easier and less political ways to do PR, second,it's fairly common knowledge, she is one the very few celeb's who make arrangements for the money she would get paid to where a designer's clothes at a red carpet event to go directly to charity or to her foundation. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Does she use PR to do her job and sell or promote something for her or Brad and for the client (studios, producers, mags etc.), you betcha, it's called the business of show. Does she use her celebrity to draw attention to good causes...yes and backs it up with money from her own pocket.
