George Clooney smiled as he left a sushi dinner with friends in LA last night, but he wasn't happy about what happened earlier in the day regarding the California Supreme Court's upholding Proposition 8. He responded to the ruling, saying, "This just should invigorate people to get it back on the ballot in 2010 and 2012 and every two years until all people are allowed a basic civil right." George has spoken out against the same-sex marriage ban before, and it probably won't be the last we hear of his opinions on the controversial issue.
we can only hope that enough other states start to pass it that in 2010 that it can get back on the ballot. it's INSANE that people are so closed minded!
Go George!
I agree George
This country took a step forward, but then some took a step back. This is so sad.
Perhaps George can start with President Obama, who was very specific in saying that according to his beliefs, the marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman.
Go George!
George is gay. he needs to come out.
Good for him! Way to make a stand!!
Probably because he is a closet gay! Go prop 8 Go!!!!!
Anonymous comment if you're going to say something ludicrous like that grow some balls and get a name first!
*sigh* it's just plain horrible to treat people differently because of who they love, I'm still surprised most people can't see that..
pampire: like getting a fake nick name would prove my credibility. lol..you can see the irony, right? you are funny...LMAO
I get so annoyed that people need to control other people. Focus on yourself, do your controlling over your own friends and family, and leave everyone else alone. IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.
Credibility? Ha that's funny, like anyone has any belief in what you're saying! Oh and my name is Pam which is in pampire so its not so fake, now is it? Oh and welcome to 2009!
shut up george. the people voted.
People shouldn't be allowed to vote against basic human rights. I hope more people speak up and raise awareness that it is not ok to discriminate against anyone.
now George knows how we Prop 4 people feel - that something so obvious is continually turned down over and over and over. while I am personally against gay marriage; it is not the duty of the government to decide anything to do with marriage...
If you want to ban people from same sex marriage, then ban them from paying taxes. It is a basic right that is being taken away.
