James Rides the Pineapple Express to the Golden Globes
James Franco was up bright and early in NYC on Wednesday morning and we have a feeling that big smile lasted all the way through Thursday when the Golden Globe Nominations were announced. While his movie Milk didn't do as well as expected, James nabbed a best actor nod for Pineapple Express. James was up late the night before working on a student film for grad school and admits the nomination was a little surprising. Of course, there are no complaints from him — or from us about a chance to see James out on the red carpet come January.

5it's so funny to me that this movie (pineapple express) is getting so much notice. it's not like it was overly compelling material, and even james himself said that it was odd that he was getting all this chatter and buzz about it. it's nice to be recognized though.

I thought he was the freaking hilight of that movie, for sure. I've never been a huge fan, but he was really hilarious in Pineapple Express.

17(sigh!) He always seems to do this! He looks GREAT for his photo shoots, keeps the look 'til it's done & then grows his hair all over the place & a goatee or 'stache or something! It just seems less important to him than other things he has to do. Well, at least he's not conceited, always dressing or acting like he's EVERYTHING! (Oh, and he's got a GF - Ahna O'Reilly - and millions of WOMEN DO LOVE HIM! Women of ALL ages, thank you very much!)(wink)
18He isn't as attractive to me anymore...but I don't get the gay vibe from him like some people do.
19His performance in Pineapple Express was better than his performance in Milk. He definitely deserves this nomination. It doesn't matter which movie was more serious or more typical 'awards' material. If you've seen both movies, it's obvious which performance of his stands out more. GO JAMES!
And the scruffy look is cool. Way to not give a f*ck, buddy!
Lastly, why worry about his sexuality when you're not going to have a chance with him anyway? I definitely get the closeted vibe from him, and apparently within the industry his gay side is somewhat well-known. But whatever, he rules.
