Im over Depp especially how he is so pro France and hates America. Make moves in France then..lately he acts like Jack Sparrow in all his movies its so played out.

he doesn't hate america - he's from south florida and always has had a soft spot for the area. he comes back to play in his band all the time. i think that everyone needs to remember that vanessa and their kids are french (i figure i can say his kids are since they were all born over there) and he's just doing a good thing by allowing his family to be in the country that they are from and all that. i don't know - i adore him and i'm so happy that he's matured in the way that he has.

Here is his reaction to what the magazine quoted him as saying. I also don't think it makes you a bad American because you don't agree with the way the country is run or the direction it is going. I mean, if you think about it, Native Americans got the raw deal and this was their country to begin with! Oh and doesn't Johnny Depp have Native American heritage? Hmm, that would make sense. Well, anyway, this love it or leave it crap pisses me off. Then how are we different from those countries that have dictators or leaders that kill their people? Can nobody question anything anymore?

Johnny Depp does not want to be the next Natalie Maines. On Thursday, the ''Pirates of the Caribbean'' star disavowed an interview in the German magazine Stern, published this week, that quotes him as calling America a ''dumb puppy'' and a ''broken toy.'' In a statement, he said his remarks were taken ''radically out of context,'' adding, ''There was no anti-American sentiment.''

Depp, who has lived in France for five years with French singer/actress Vanessa Paradis, was quoted in Stern as saying, ''America is dumb, it's like a dumb puppy that has big teeth that can bite and hurt you, aggressive.'' Of the couple's two children, he was quoted as saying, ''I'd like them to see America as a toy, a broken toy. Investigate it a little, check it out, get this feeling and then get out.''

In his statement on Thursday, Depp said, ''What I was saying was that, compared to Europe, America is a very young country and we are still growing as a nation. My deepest apologies to those who were offended, affected, or hurt by this insanely twisted deformation of my words and intent.''

Said the Kentucky-born actor, ''I am an American. I love my country and have great hopes for it. It is for this reason that I speak candidly and sometimes critically about it. I have benefited greatly from the freedom that exists in my country and for this I am eternally grateful.''

I LOVE JOHNNY! My mom just phoned from PR....she is there on vaca......they were at a local Fort where they are filming...........she said a shop owner said that JD has been in the shop and very casual/cool! She is on the look out so she can take some pics!!!!!!!
