Matt Damon brought The People Speak, his upcoming documentary airing on the History Channel, to the Summer TCAs in Pasadena yesterday. Matt co-executive produced the project based on Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States, which also got a famous shout out in Damon's Good Will Hunting. At the panel, Matt talked about reading the Declaration of Independence in the film, calling it an "incredible document" which we should all revisit every year. The powerful History Channel film will also feature the voices of Marisa Tomei, Josh Brolin, Sean Penn, Morgan Freeman and many more reciting important documents from America's history.

i feel like lately he's been working on a lot of projects that are like this - that have more substance than a typical movie. i like when actors do things like that - they bring things that we should be thinking about to the forefront, and not in a preachy way.
1OMG!!! I am a total historical nerd, so I am DEF going to try and catch this! Matt is hot and smart!
2My husband will love this!
3He seems like a cool enough guy.
4Any info on when this will be airing?
5It is scheduled for a fall release - probably in December.
6When is he divorcing his ugly goldigger wife? Should be any day now.
