Angelina Jolie Visits Refugees in Afghanistan and Pleads For Help in Côte d'Ivoire and Libya

Angelina Jolie visited with refugees in Kabul, Afghanistan, on her latest visit with the UNHCR. She has made visits to the area before and today she greeted a mother, Khanum Gul, and her youngest son, Samir, who Angelina first met when he was a newborn. Now he is 2 years old and having medical issues, which Angelina spoke about, saying, "It was very distressing to see that, because of the poor conditions, Samir seems to be suffering some form of developmental delay due to malnutrition or lack of medical care. He can't walk and is barely surviving in what can only be described as a very cold and damp warehouse." The actress and activist also discussed the current situations in Côte d'Ivoire and Libya as part of her role as a UN Goodwill Ambassador. She said, "As we witness these newest crises unfold in west and north Africa, it is critical that all parties respect the fundamental right of people in danger to flee to safety – whether civilians caught in conflict in their own country or refugees and asylum seekers caught in new conflicts. All I'm asking is that civilians be protected, and not targeted or harmed." Angelina sometimes brings her own kids and partner Brad Pitt along for her humanitarian travels, but this time she was on her own. Brad has been taking care of business in LA and with his own quick trips.

Im sorry but amandahugginkiss has no obligation to help Afghanistan because she is from there. We are all human beings and we should all help eachother regardless or race or religion. Last time I checked Angelina lives in the safety of multi million dollar chateaus all over the globe, and gets paid to do absolutely nothing.She's my girl and all but you can't praise her as if shes got a tough life. She hates people like you anyway.

You can't make anyone happy these days.Angie goes half way around the world to help people in need, as part of her job as an ambassador, and people say stay home and care for your kids. Sometimes parents have jobs that force them to be away from their children. It doesn't mean they are not cared for and loved. Angie was adopting children before it became a thing for celebrities to do. Should she adopt every child in need? She is famous for being an actress. There will be cameras no matter where she goes. Isn't it a good thing that she would drag cameras to places that need worldwide attention? Regardless of her fame, if she wasn't an actress I think she would still be doing humanitarian things because she is compelled by compassion. Yes it's probably easier for her because she has money and fame but shouldn't we be glad that she is using that for a good cause?

She their now with no know movie to promote she visited Haiti during earthquake, SOS Children’s Villages, Pakistan’s flood, DADAAB, Kenya, QUITO, Ecuador and the list goes on all these visits with no movies to promote . She puts in her time and money into being a UN goodwill ambassador not just giving money to charities and calling it a day like many other celebrities do, she goes to unsafe and dangerous and disease redden place for the last 11 years and if that not dedication then I don’t know what is and I give credit to anyone who does that celebrity or not.

as an afghan-american woman, this picture bothers me to no end. we don't need an overpaid actress giving lip service to the plight of the people. uggh. btw, calling someone from pakistan a paki is offensive and people from afghanistan are called afghans. also it is very hard to adopt from afghanistan even if you are muslim as they don't like people taking orphans out of the country...
