Natalie Portman Sticks Close to Home in the Run-Up to the Oscars

Natalie Portman threw on her jacket for a walk in NYC yesterday. She was out enjoying some warmth in the city, which was a great change from the frigid weather she's endured all Winter. Natalie's fiancé Benjamin Millepied is often by her side for her strolls, but this time she went out solo. She and Benjamin are apparently expecting a son, and Natalie has been staying in the Big Apple to prep for their special delivery. She skipped out on last Sunday's BAFTAs in London, where her Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky picked up her best actress statue. She will, though, head West in time for the Oscars, and all eyes will certainly be on the star and the dress she chooses for Hollywood's biggest night.

Being on the plane has nothing to do with premature birth. Swollen ankles - maybe... People travel international up to 35 weeks (Natalie is nowhere near that). The recommendation not to travel comes from a completely different perspective: being in close proximity to your dr in case you do go into labor.

she should be enjoying today's weather then too. it's really nice out and a great chance for her to take a little stroll!

please she's getting close to the point in pregnancy where it's to dangerous to travel long distances because of the risk of premature birth. just because she's won every other award doesn't mean she's guarenteed an oscar some of those either didn't exist or weren't televised before a certain point. for example the sags weren't Televised until 1994 but have been given out since 1947 when President Reagan was president of the Screen Actors Guild
