Isla Fisher Steps Out With a Very Obvious Baby Bump!

Isla Fisher showed off an unmistakable baby bump out in LA this weekend. There were rumors she was expecting and she's been wearing lots of cross-body bags and billowing dresses — but these pictures seem to be confirmation that she's pregnant! Isla and Sacha Baron Cohen got married in Paris at the end of March after being together for eight years. Sounds like they wanted to make it official before welcoming their new family member. The two have one adorable daughter, Olive, who's going to be a big sister later this year. Congrats to the family!

Hi Noa--You make some good and valid points regarding Jewish law, but I don't agree with you that the negative comments regarding Isla's conversion are racist. As you point out, Judaism is indeed "not an easy religion or people to convert into, but it's certainly not based on racism, it's based on faith and adherence to Jewish law." I think that many of the posters who are calling her conversion phony are doing so precisely because they don't see her behavior as being in accordance with Jewish law--either the letter of it or even the spirit of it. Even, the dress she is wearing in the picture above violates the traditional Jewish concept of modesty. As an observant Jew, you know that the only valid reason to convert to Judaism is to live according to Jewish law. You don't become Jewish simply by saying now I'm, Jewish. You change your behavior to conform to the lifestyle. I think the negative posters don't see evidence of her wanting to live Jewishly, just evidence of her wanting to live with a Jew. No rabbi, even a Reform one, would consider that adequate grounds for conversion, so we can imagine that whatever she told the beth din that converted her was far different from what we see. As to Isla not knowing what she was getting into, I'll call BS on that one. As you know, any rabbi of whatever denomination would have meet with her many times before even beginning the conversion process. I can't believe that in the many years they were together that she did not thoroughly investigate what she was getting into or that even Sacha didn't tell her to really be sure before she decided. The real pity about a lot of these Hollywood conversions--Isla, Nikki Zierling, Catherine Zeta-Jones (who still wears a cross)-- is that they make sincere converts, especially if they are young women, look fake. A friend of mine who converted in college is always explaining that she didn't do it for her husband, but rather for herself six years before she met him.

Good luck to them. As for their marriage and Sacha Cohen not wanting to marry her because yadayada... BS. 1. Conversion to judaism, that is a valid conversion recognized by all denominations of "judaism" is an orthodox conversion. I'm not going to get into debate of which group is "real" judaism which isn't. Doesn't matter. The fact is that a conversion accepted by: reform, conservative (or massorti), accepted by the rabbinat of Israel today is an orthodox conversion. She didn't have an orthodox conversion and if she did, the beth din that converted her would be revoking it, as within a year of converting, she wasn't respecting many of the halakhic (legal/laws) requirements. 2. So let's say she did convert. Cohenim (Cohens) because of their status within the jewish people (priests in the Holy Temple) and their obligations and roles (certain prayers and blessings can be done only by Cohenim)... also have laws that apply specifically to them. Such as who they can marry. A cohen may not marry a convert (but he may marry the daughter of a convert provided the convert married an "Israel".. regular born jew and not another convert) SO even with a valid conversion, no orthodox beth din would marry them since it is simply not an acceptable marriage for cohens. There is no judicial framework within jewish law for such a marriage asides from the fact that it invalidates the Cohen and his descendance (as cohens, not as jews). Now perhap's S.Cohen's lineage is suspect and he's not a valid Cohen himself... but usually, the last name Cohen is altered when that is the case (at least amongst religious jews of the times). Cohen could become Cohnberg or Kahan... a variation of cohen. 3. S.Cohen's parents are orthodox jews.... they therefor study a bit and know halakha or are in contact with their rabbi who would inform them of these things. They would probably not push for any type of marriage with Isla. Orthodox or not since no matter how, the marriage is prohibited. So either they've come to terms with that and accept Isla regardless or these people probably don't spend much time together and don't have much of an influence on Isla and Sacha Cohen's lives. 4. Sacha Cohen, being born into an orthodox family knew exactly what he was getting into the day he started dating a non jew. Have you seen Bruno run through the streets of Israel with that hassid inspired sexy outfit?? lol... the Man obviously isn't concerned with shocking the orthodox lol. (Though I'm observant and it cracked me up) Isla Fisher on the other hand , did NOT know all these laws and rules orthodox jews abide by. How could she? It's huge... which is why conversions take up to 2 years and more, because it's that much time you need to learn. People are making it out like the shiksa that manipulated the innocent jewish boy. He knows jewish law, he knows what he was getting to. It was HIS responsibility and I'm sure they're just fine with the choices they've made. The whole "she tricked him" "fake conversion" "he wouldn't marry her because she's not jewish" blahblahblah is racist BS. Voila, sorry, but reading some of the above hate comments made me worry about how people would perceive judaism through such comments. It's not an easy religion or people to convert into, but it's certainly not based on racism, it's based on faith and adherence to jewish law. period.

Hey, what's with all the hate on this board? I think that this is a cute family and if they really do all these bad things, then karma will come and bite them in the butt! Or whatever the Jewish equivalent is. I kinda agree with everyone saying that they got married because she was pregnant but, I remember hearing last year they were trying to get married in Italy and something came up. Congrats on the baby Isla!

#35--You're welcome. It's an interesting article; the British press really portrays her as a gold-digger and a user. I agree completely about her conversion seeming insincere. I can only hope for the kids' sake that the family figures out a way through that mess if it's true. I've seen a lot of interfaith families with angry, messed up kids when a marriage was dependent on an insincere or "forced" conversion. I can't say I feel bad for Isla like all the posters who've been saying that he's forced her into the conversion, knocked her up and then refused to marry her because she hadn't converted or because of his mother. It takes two to tango, and according to the article she's done this dance with other rich or powerful guys before.

#28; Thanks. I will definately look that up. Isla sounds like a despicable human being. I feel sorry for Olive. A Daily Mail interview also shows what kind of disgusting person Isla is. Isla said that religion wasn't important and would worship a tree to marry Sacha. This was during the time that she was undergoing a so-called "conversion" to Judaism. What a total fraud. Isla had to get pregnant twice for Sacha to marry her. In a way you have to feel sorry for Isla. On the other hand I will be glad when Sacha divorces her because she deserves it!

#27-- I tried to post a link for you, but it won't post. You should google an article called "Do I manipulate men? That's what they're for." in the Sunday Mirror by Louise Hancock. Isla says in the article: "I love the power women have. I think women rule the world because they rule men. Manipulating men - that's our job. That's what we're on the planet for." She also "confesses to dumping the boy who took her virginity just hours after they first made love." A quote from Isla: "I wanted to break up with him but I'd never had sex and I thought 'What a waste."I'd gone out with him for eight months and I thought I may as well have him. So we did it there and then. And I've been doing that ever since...very successfully." Yuck!

I knew Isla was pregnant when I heard that Sacha and her got married. Sacha did not want to marry her so Isla got pregnant again to trap him. Sacha was photographed hugging and kissing another woman a year ago. Isla knew she had to something drastic to keep his attention. A divorce will come sooner than later. Isla did not have a real conversion to Judaism. It was a quick Reform liberal phony conversion to apease Sacha's Orthodox Jewish parents. Isla herself admitted that she doesn't care about Judaism and only "converted" to appease Sacha's Orthodox parents. I'm sick and tired of non-Jewish women like Isla disrepecting my religion and heritage. Isla is not Jewish and she should just go back to church and take Sacha with her!

Holy Moly there are some vicious comments on here! Why are people sitting around theorizing about Isla and Sasha's motives for waiting to get married? Or about her career or her motivations as a mother? What the heck is wrong with you "anonymous" people? Isla looks great btw. I wish her all the best and I hope to see her on the big screen soon.

#18--Actually, we've seen her on this site about once a week since the wedding. Isla takes Olive to the same ballet class that Nicole Ritchie takes her daughther to The paps have caught her and Olive every week for the past three weeks along with Nicole and Harlow, Nicole probably calls them. Isla generally claims to want to shelter Olive from the press, so it surprises me that she's shown up weekly in a place where the paps are sure to be.

#13--Certainly, Isla was counting on that. Why else would a woman have a second baby with a guy who waited over three years after her conversion and over two and a half years after the birth of their child to marry her. If it were me, I'd have real doubts about the man's love and respect for me after all that. She stuck it out though. A lot of women wouldn't have risked bringing two kids into the world without a marriage, but she toughed it out. I wouldn't have.

#8--Not to worry. You'll see her sooner than that. After telling the press she planned to stay home with her baby, Isla left a newborn with a nanny to film COAS. If there's work for her, she'll take it. She can't afford not to, really. Except for the extremely talented, there's little work in Hollywood for women over 40. Isla's 34; unless she can develop beyond cutesy roles she'll be done soon.

IT'S NOOOT AMY ADAMS!! Do the research people. It's Isla Fisher, and as a matter of fact she wearing her well known bag..so for sure it's her. I didn't knew she was pregnant, but I've looking at her pics and definitely she was always trying to cover her baby bump. Congrats for them!!
