Johnny Depp Makes a Surprise Appearance and Scores a Robert Pattinson Upset at People's Choice Awards!

Johnny Depp graciously accepted the award for favorite male movie star at the People's Choice Awards in LA this evening. He's a frequent winner in the category, though Twilight fans were still surprised to see Johnny come out on top of Robert Pattinson. Taylor Swift presented the statue to sexy Johnny, and he sweetly passed on a hello to the country star from his daughter, who is apparently a huge fan. Johnny is also up for a Golden Globe for his work in The Tourist, so perhaps this is only the beginning of his award season success. Meanwhile we are stationed backstage and are streaming live and chatting with the winners and presenters alike, so tune in. The reason that Johnny comes to these awards shows is beacause it's the People's Choice Awards.. He's there for the fans.. He still has a job because of 'the people', and he knows that very well. If this were another award show, he wouldn't necessarily be there.. He's the man!

i TOTALLY didn't expect to see him there last night - what a NICE surprise !!!! i'm thrilled that JD is making appearances now at shows and i hope that we get to see him at the GG's or some of the other ones too now. he's really one of my favs (and i say this as i'm staring at a signed picture of him on my desk)

Johnny Depp looks creepy. He used to be sexy back in the day. He had to turn himself into a homeless dude so Hollywood would take him seriously. You know they would not let him get away from 21 Jump Street and the whole teen Idol thing. So he started perfecting the weird clown act in several films until he finally shed that tiger beet thing. Everybody knows the Tourist is not a good movie. He's nominated cause the Hollywood Foreign Press wants him and Angie at the Awards.

Johnny Depp has proved his talent many times over Robert Pattinson...not saying Robert isn't good...Johnny is a master of any character he plays. Congrats Johnny Depp.
