Katherine Heigl's back in LA after her stint in NYC shooting New Year's Eve, and it looks like the actress had two new things making her smile yesterday — she picked up a puppy from a friend, and she was also flaunting a brand-new platinum crop! Katherine's young daughter Naleigh accompanied her to the East Coast, where she shot a role in the Garry Marshall comedy originally intended for Halle Berry. Halle, however, had to drop that part due to her ongoing custody battle with ex Gabriel Aubry, but things seem to have cooled down enough that Halle was still able to find a way to participate in the film.
