Suri Cruise Drops Some Not-so-Big Bills on Breakfast With Katie

Suri Cruise was back in her favorite piggy slippers yesterday for a run to Le Pain Quotidien in LA with her mom, Katie Holmes. Little Suri wasn't formal with her attire, but she was all about being the big girl and paying for their drinks and croissants. Both Katie and Suri are hanging out in California while Tom continues doing reshoots for Knight and Day. Katie just logged time in front of the cameras herself with her role in Son of No One, and she'll soon be back on set when she starts working on her History Channel series about the Kennedys.

People Magazine article says that the kid sets her own rules: She chooses her bedtime, wakeup time, clothes, food, and if someone challenges her, throws a friggin fit. My question is: Don't they have chefs at home making gourmet coffee and baking their croissants?!

Sorry, Jack Rip, but you are the one who is sorely confused and most definitely naive. A-list celebrities live all over LA. Many, many, many of them have raised children, and done it completely out of the public eye. That is a choice and certainly a privilege of the wealthy and famous. Celebrities who do NOT want their children exploited for promtional purposes can easily avoid that scrutiny IF they priority is the protection of their children's privacy. Celebrities who DO want the attention know exactly how to get it. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are that particular kind of celebrity. They have invited the press into their private lives since Suri was an infant, and often are the ones tipping off the photogs as to exactly where they will be that day and time. I've seen Katie posing with that child, who looked terrified but whose distress was ignored in favor of the cameras. I've seen both Tom and Katie make appearances simply to get their photo taken as if captured out on an impromptu family outing, and it's been as carefully staged as a professional movie shoot. There is very little about these two that is real, and the idea that they don't want the attention is quite laughable.

Hey Jahva, could you be any more confused? Paparazzi are at the Cruise's front door waiting for them to come out, every day, all day long. They don't need to seek anyone out for any kind of attention. Have you seen some of the clips, it's a sea of scuzzi paps crawling over each other screaming things at Katie and Suri. Katie carries Suri to keep her feeling safe. Grow up some.

And what is the new thing with her wearing nightgowns and big slippers out and about at every time of day? Are these the new toddler heels and makeup? It might be cute once or twice, like if you are taking your child out in the evening and anticipate they will fall asleep in the car on the way home. But this is now an almost everyday occurrence. Like everything else about TomKat, that's just weird. I swear these two whack-a-doo celebrity parents will do anything if they think it will draw more attention and get them more pictures in the press. One day (hopefully) that little girl will be old enough to realize how she is being used as nothing but a promotional tool.
