Katie Holmes and Suri Get in the Christmas Spirit in Canada

Katie Holmes brought Suri to check out the Stanley Park Christmas train in Vancouver yesterday evening. The girls are up in Canada visiting Tom Cruise, who is there working on Mission: Impossible 4. He showed off his muscles on set earlier this week, reminding us why he earned a spot in our hottest shirtless guys of the year slideshow. Katie wrapped up her own business before heading north to see Tom. She filmed Jack and Jill with an adorable pajama-wearing Suri on Monday, hit the gym in LA on Tuesday, and met with her Holmes & Yang partner on Wednesday. Katie also was up bright and early to announce the Golden Globe Award nominations, sporting a hot Azzaro dress and nouveau Farrah Fawcett hair. Katie may not be making a 2011 award season run, but she does have good news to celebrate. She might be returning to Broadway since she was reportedly offered a part in a show called Extremities.

I don't know whether she is happy or miserable but they sure live a strange live together. She has no proper job and yet she does not follow him on location but instead choose to spend months apart. Whenever she does follow him on set, it is all about staged photo-ops. And why on earth can she never be bothered to look at least like she brushed her hair? The phot from the award nomination announcement reminded me that she can be gorgeous, she just looks really old and ugly in everyday life because she does not bother. Or is this look the kind that will get her labelled "fashion forward" in Vogue?

I wasn't aware Santa Claus had anything to do with Christianity? lol I think it's more a holiday tradition, thanks largely to Coca Cola subverting the legend of Saint Nic.It's all bluming made up crap anyway.

I don't necessarily have issues with the smiling, not smiling so much as to why in the first photo is this child standing up in the back seat of the car and not secured in a booster seat or at least a seat belt. Maybe it is not moving, but she should be the first one secured before anything else.

Katie probably looks like that—a silk scarf headwrap?!?—because she just rolled out of bed and got her orders to make an appearance in Vancouver STAT. So predictable. You could actually countdown the minutes from the negative rumors to this.

Why can’t Katie be bothered to do her hair anymore? It’s only worn down and brushed and styled if she is on set or presenting at an event. Is life *really* that tough, Mrs. Tom Cruise? Really? And “happy” family-oriented photo-ops staged to counteract recent negative press regarding separation and impending divorce know no religious bounds—they are celebrated all year long by these two. (Except Katie is once again failing to live up to her end of the bargain by actually looking the part.) Santa is a commercial figure and media-friendly. Tom Cruise is all over that.
