Britney Spears Goes Manga to Pop Up on a New Magazine Cover

Britney Spears got the manga treatment, Hello Kitty socks and all, for the upcoming issue of Pop magazine. The shoot was art directed by Takashi Murakami, but photographed by Todd Cole. She excitedly tweeted about her anticipation to see the cover yesterday, and Brit apparently liked the results — she wrote that she thinks the photos are beautiful and said thanks to Takashi. Britney has been busy lately with her posing, working on new music, and also making her much-anticipated cameo on Glee. She took time off last weekend, though, to enjoy a date day with her boyfriend, Jason Trawick.

Please, she is being cute, funny and sarcastic. She obviously know she is a grown up, the bride dress and cute pose are just for fun. This really looks like those japanese magazines for teenagers. Also, Gwen Stefani didnt understand anything about japanese fashion, she called everybody "harajuku girls", even if they were lolitas, gyaru,hime, mori girl, visual kei, etc. I love this shoot, Britney looks so pretty .

i LOVE this. Its creepy in a great way.I think Takashi has causght the whole seedy side of her image and captured her vulnerability also whilst adding a cultural twist. fantastic!

This is not Japanese style, this is an insult to "Japanese style." Gwen Stefanie's Harajuku line is closer to Japanese pop art. Takashi Murakami, you disappoint me, this is crap compared to his previous works.

Love Britney. Do NOT love these pics. This "Japanese style" just isn't my thing. Of course she'd going to say she loves them. Do you think she's going to come out and say they suck and offend the people behind them?

It´s not weird nor creepy, it´s Japanese, I´m not being racist, Japaneses make great things that might look odd to other cultures, Britney looks incredibly cute, sweet, stylized in this pics, I love her. Besides, Takashi Murakami is considered one of the best artists in Japan, he´s like a Japanese Andy Warhol
