Natalie Avoids Any Black Swan Controversy During a Day Out With Benjamin

Natalie Portman hopped into a taxi in NYC yesterday afternoon with her fiancé, Benjamin Millepied, following closely behind. The couple had a day out together in the city after a few outings for just Natalie and her pup Whiz. She's now gearing up for the release of her new movie Your Highness, but it's her Academy Award-winning film Black Swan that has the Ivy League-educated star back in the headlines. Her ballet dancer body double continues to make claims that she did most of the work in the thriller, but Benjamin leaped to Natalie's defense recently to say she really appeared in at least 85 percent of the scenes.

Natalie thanked everyone who worked on the film but not the person who made her look like a dancer? She thanked ever makeup artist, hair stylist. Honestly the fact that Darren denied the body double's scenes making it onto the final cut proves they're hiding something. Sketch.

oh for god's sake people, Portman had NO need to thank her fucking dance double, because doubles are barely more than glorified extras and who the hell thanks the extras when you're accepting your damn Oscar. I can't walk and knew she barely did any of her own dancing and really couldn't give a rat's ass who did the dancing for her - she's an actress and I didn't watch the movie for the dancing. geez, enough already - there is no controversy - this Sarah Lane is clearly a bitter, aging dancer who saw this gig as a ticket to ride somewhere and it wasn't. get the fuck over it bitches.

Agree too a little thank you in one of her many speeches would have been the right thing to do. Then to have Natalie’s fiancé outright lie and say Natalie did 85% of the dancing is shameful anyone who ever profanely dance knows that you don’t reach that level of ballet in a year and a half; Someone should tell Benjamin face shots and close ups don’t count as doing 85% of the dancing. I get that a body double is a thankless job but not when the producers portrayal of Portman as a prodigy and became a premier ballerina over night and she went all with this lie. The way Benjamin downgraded Sarah Lane and the other body double work in the film doesn’t bode well for his future in dancing It’s a small world in the dance community this will be remembered.

We aren't dumb enough to believe Natalie turned into a professional ballerina after a year of training. She won the Oscar for her acting, not dancing. The movie's producers should have had more class then try to hide Ms. Lane's contributions. However, I don't know what people expect from Natalie. She worked closely with the Rodarte sisters. Of course she thanked them. In Sarah Lane's case, I doubt they know each other beyond a "hello" - and Natalie probably has no clue what ended up in the final cut. I am puzzled by the criticism of her. It's a movie - with obvious special effects. Get a grip, folks.

Agree. Natalie has gone as far as thanking Rodarte for the costumes, the least she can do is thank her body double for making her look good in the dance scenes !

I think Sarah Lane probably did less dancing than she's claiming, but more than the filmmakers are admitting. The decent thing to have done would've been Natalie just saying a quick thank you during her Oscar speech (or any of her speeches, really).
