Reese Sticks With Jim as Her Movie Fails to Make Waves in Theaters

Reese Witherspoon braved the rain in LA on Saturday to do some last-minute holiday shopping at Ralph Lauren, and yesterday she joined boyfriend Jim Toth for a similarly wet trek to the Brentwood Country Mart. It was a weekend of lying low for Reese following a month of jetting between the Vancouver set of This Means War and the East Coast to promote her new movie How Do You Know. Her James L. Brooks-directed comedy, also starring Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd, failed to do great business at the box office, however — it didn't crack the top five, and with only $7.6 million in revenues, it fell significantly behind number one film Tron. Buzz liked the movie despite its lackluster performance, but we're all looking forward to her next big project. The brand-new trailer for Water for Elephants is out, and we took a closer look at all the hot scenes Reese shares with Robert Pattinson.

she'll take her 100 zillion dollars and just go home? lol! Actually I think she has huge potential to continue...her portrayal as June Carter Cash was brilliant. I think she need better material & she'll be around as long as she wants.. eeee haaaa!

Reese's days as a $15 million earner are over. She has another very expensive romantic comedy called This Means War coming out that will likely be atrocious and bomb. This weekends bomb wasn't just a film that underperformed, it was an Ishtar like disaster. Reese may get a Razzie nomination. She'll still work but I don't see her commanding the kind of money she has in the past. She's done.

Because it's a crap movie, with a horrible storyline. The girl can act, but this kind of movie has been done so many times I think people are over it. Love her, though.

Tron failed too, or at least didn't live up to expectations. Maybe people were out shopping? Not that this movie looked very good anyway.

Buzz liked this film? Spoken like a true sycophant. You know, an ass kisser. The failure of this film had nothing to do with the competition. It drew less than Yogi Bear, which was a stinker of the highest order.

poor reese - but i have to say that's kind of what happens when you open the same weekend as a really anticipated movie like tron. (which was really good). i'm sure that reese isn't too upset though - she's still really bankable.
