Yes, some celebs do have staged photo opps, thats the PR game, but when you complain about the paps/photogs and your privacy be invaded and then get staged photos,like Witherspoon has done since her and Gyllenhaal split up, it looks hypocritical and desperate!!!

I agree with Artemis 100%. ChelMarie, I agree with your Oscar assessment but the same could be said for Sandra Bullock. Her performance in The Blind Side was good but any actress could have played that part. I still don't understand why she won an Oscar for that. And what's with all of these comments saying this is staged? What celebrity doesn't stage photos????

@DontHateTheTruth That was a funny post for yesterday! Had to go back and look. That last pix of her and daughter looks like she is telling her off or she's just opening her mouth again about something irrelevant. Reese and Jen G. are BFF's according to both of them!

I agree 100%, she looks hot but there no real action shots or video to really show her skill. It reminds of a picture of Britney Spears in a similar situation a few years ago. Shame, there are lots of top female surfers who look as good and if not better and they should get just as much attention.

People are so naive if they think these photoshoots "just happen" and Reese is just living her life. These are totally planned, timed and made for your consumption. Not just Reese but all the stars do it. Reese has taken to a new extreme and then tries to pretend she isn't involved which is reprehensible to take advantage of her fans who are obviously not the brightest bulbs on tree.

#12 I don't know it, I said she SEEM to be like that. She has never done anything to make me dislike her. It's not like she's the only one who gets photographed by the paparazzi wherever she goes. And I really don't see how any of that is her fault. What is she supposed to do? Stay inside her entire life? Walk around with a permanent scowl on her face to show how much she hates paparazzi? That doesn't help either because then people will label her 'a bitch' and complain about her never smiling like they do Jessica Alba or Victoria Beckham. It seems celebrities just can't win, can they?

When you cry in a magazine about your loss of privacy and the horrible paps and then turn around and sell pics of your wedding to gossip and entertainment magazines, all to sell yourself and your latest movie coming out, then you are a famewhore, sellout, and in the PR game. I dont think its HATE coming from folks, its more of "dont act holier then thou', when you are doing the same thing"! Its ALL BUSINESS!!!!

Artemis, collect your check. How much publicity someone "needs" is all dependent on how hungry they are to be the apple of the public's eye. For all Reese's condemnation of reality TV, she's turned her own life into one big photo op. As for some people being more guilty, how does that mitigate what she does? It's all Me, Me, Me with Reese.

ChelMarie, I agree with you, but it goes for all the Oscar categories. So many of the award-winning movies seem to win because there was no real good movie around that year or other movies did not get the right publicity. Can you compare Lawrence of Arabia with the completely-void-of-interest Benjamin Button movie? And what about the horsefaced actress (whose name I cannot remember) who won the Oscar twice but has not acted in one succcessful movie before or after? Is she really a good actor or was the role simply such that it was "made for" an Oscar win? I don't think Reese is a particularly good actress but she did do a decent job in Walk the Line and I can think of other Oscars which were far more undeserving.

That she was photographed once or twice while strolling around Paris, or Capri, and that the paps snap her when she is shopping in LA or surfing in Hawaii, is hardly her fault. Admittedly, I was surprised that she sold her wedding pictures to People, but at the same time, I did enjoy seeing her in her bridal gown. Why should she not love herself? She is a successful working mother of two, she looks great and she has found love again. I bet most of us would have a piece of her life if we could. I am not saying that she is perfect, but I don't see her doing stupid things for publicity or over-sharing on her relationship with her husband etc. There are many other celebrities who are guilt of far more over-exposure.

This comment will seem totally random, I know, but I find it so laughable how the standards for acting Oscars vary from year to year. Having just rewatched it recently, "Walk the Line" is a good---even great---movie but is Reese's performance in it on par with say...Marion Cotillard's stunning work in "La Vie en Rose"? Vivien Leigh in GWTW? Meryl Streep in "Sophie's Choice"? I guess I just hate that Reese now gets to be called "Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon"...what's she done since that proves her talent?

She sold Wedding photos to People magazine, gave People and US Weekly daily exclusives of her honeymoon in Paris with daily photos and a complete rundown of what she ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then it was on to more photo-ops in Capri for the second leg of their Honeymoon PR tour and now a daily dose of Reese in Hawaii. And of course, in between trips, a daily dose of Reese going shopping. Seriously, WTF.
