Ryan Phillippe Takes a Break From Revealing All

Ryan Phillippe let his forearm tattoo peek out from his tight white shirt while running errands around LA Monday. With MacGruber coming out later this month the normally private star is opening up in interviews all over including one about all his body art — Ryan showed off his shirtless sexy back for Inked magazine and also revealed how he covered up a ladybug tat he got for Reese years ago. His ex wife has been a frequent topic of conversation during the lead up to his movie's release and Ryan seems to have won back some fans talking about his sadness over their breakup and found support in how unfairly he's been treated in the media.

I love him. I don't care what people say.
I have to agree with JoJo123. I've followed Reese and Ryan's interviews for over 10 years. Ryan is unbelievably forthcoming -- yes, sometimes you cringe when you realize how outspoken he is. But at least he keeps it real. On the other hand, Reese always provides positive soundbites to depict what she and her PR people want you to think about her. Many interviewers have reported how she or her press rep shuts down the interview as soon as they derail from agreed to prescreened discussion points.

He answers the questions that are asked without a publicist sitting next to the reporter shutting down certain subjects. I think he man's up and addresses the issues. Abbie uses Nicole Kidman's former publicist who is a pitt bull. Plus she did hardly any press for Bright Star. It was a little arthouse movie. Reese Witherspoon's public persona is so tightly controlled she hand picks her interviewers and he publicist supplies the questions.

Anonymous @ 4.33. There does seem to be a lot of bloggers taking shots at him, but it might be because he hasn't given them reasons to talk about anything else. If he was blowing people away with his work, they might focus on that (Abbie managed to do this with Bright Star). But even during promos for his films, he's turned his attention to his past relationsips, bad press, paparazzi and he in turn pulls our attention to things outside his work.

Regardless of how you feel about him you have to admit that he takes a disproportionately large ration of dung from bloggers and the regular media in comparison to other celebrities. I'm not defending him but I see so many other celebs who have done or said far worse or far more and it seems to be forgotten and the world moves on to other topics. Even when he said on Howard Stern the he was sick of taking crap the universal reaction seemed to be "too bad we're going to keep giving you crap". I don't get why to be honest.
