Taylor Momsen Revealed as the Face of Madonna's Material Girl Line — Perfect Fit or Over It?

Madonna and her daughter Lourdes teamed up to launch a line for young girls, called Material Girl, for Macy's. The collection, which features plenty of back to school basics, also has some edgy pieces, and after teasing the reveal they recently announced Taylor Momsen as the face of their Fall ads. Taylor has gotten lots of attention for her own fashion sense, though not all of it has been positive. We're wondering what you make of her partnership with Madonna and Lourdes — is it a perfect fit, or are you over Taylor's whole style?

I'm more surprised Taylor agreed to this, than to Lourdes and Madonna asking her. I guess you don't say no to Madonna, especially if you are an aspiring musician...but she seems to want to have nothing to do with mainstream culture, and the face of a fashion line for teens seems a bit of an odd choice, no?

Taylor's a perfect fit for the line. She's totally glamorous and chic if you're into the rock and roll aesthetic. Admittedly I'm not, so I can't offer much more than that. I will say that I miss the Old Jenny on Gossip Girl! Back in the first season, she was totally relatable and I really wanted personal style similar to hers. This is too grungy and dark for me.

I have a 16yr old daughter. I'd burst into tears if she chose to dress like that. Thankfully she's a prep like her mama. :) Phew! lol ditto Snookyx. This whole, teenagers emulate celebrities thing really is a fantasy in Hollywood's head. Teenagers are quite busy trying to find their own style and it's based on their school extracurricular activities. Like my daughter's a drama club kid. You can pick out every drama club kid from the athletes and school socialites. Maybe they should spend some time in real high schools outside of CA and NY. It's not 'Gossip Girls' or "90210" at all. (she just said: those girls who do that at school are called 'clowns') there you go. :D

I guess she is a good fit but i don't really know many teenagers who like her. I am around teenagers all the time and of all the people the girls I know try to dress/act like she isn't one of them.

This girl seems a little old to me, if they are appealing to 14 - 18 group. She was photographed wearing stripper/hooker shoes the other day - way too low-class. I think the Madonna/Lourdes endeavor will be successful - they will make sure they craft their line to appeal to the age group they're addressing. They need a very cool model who is not a pop figure on her own. They need to find a new "kate moss" type. I'm sure there are lots of girls out there who would be better than Taylor Momsen.

I think she is fitting for the line, definitely. I see some Madonna in this girl.Anyway, her style...it's just the way she is for now, and a lot of teenagers are doing stuff like this. It's not my taste, but I am also not a teen, let alone a teen celebrity.
