Hi, I'm Shannon Vestal, Becky Kirsch is out this week, so joining me is BuzzSugar Assistant Editor Maggie Pehanick. Hi! In Watch, Pass, or Rent this week we're reviewing Premium Rush. Gordon-Levitt stars as a bike messenger who risks his life to deliver a package that villain Michael Shannon is desperately trying to get. That envelope you picked up, I've got to ask for it back. Yeah, thing is once it goes in the bag it's got to stay in the bag. Full name? Family? People who care if they see you again. Let's kick things off with what we liked about this movie. Maggie, I was really surprised by how much I ended up enjoying this. What did you think? I agree, you know it's a really simple concept, but they ended up making it so action-packed by adding in these graphics that show you where he is going and it's a new personal take on how to do this very simple action movie. Yeah, I thought those graphics also made it look really cool. The story was really fast paced, had a great soundtrack. And, I gotta say Part of the credit goes to Joseph Gordon-Levitt who I think is always a joy to watch. And yeah, even on a bicycle he was fun to see. Kind of chasing him down Broadway right now. Really got to call you back. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is always great. I especially love Michael Shannon because I'm a Boardwalk Empire fan. So to see him still in the villain role a little bit, but get, be able to get outside of his box and play crazy just a little bit more. It was really intense. It's Ricky. For me, he was a little over the top and cartoonish at times, but I realized actually that that worked for this movie. It can be good. And I also really loved seeing New York as the setting. I thought the way that they used the city looked really, looked really great. Absolutely, and what I appreciated about this movie is that they stayed away from touristy locations, you know, no Times Square or anything. But they did show Central Park was beautiful. And it really felt like a character in the movie rather than just a location. patience. Well now let's get to what we didn't like about the movie. I have to say, for me, the love interest played by Dania Ramirez didn't add much for me. I think it's just because her character wasn't as as dynamic as Joseph Gordon-Levitts character was. What kind of bike messenger are you? I could totally take it or leave it with this romance. And it wasn't her fault. It was just that it didn't add anything. thing to the movie. I didn't think it added anything to the plot. Right, well I think we're ready now to give our verdict, so Maggie. This was a great end of the summer action flick. We loved all the action the machine's sequences Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Shannons were amazing, and New York City's beautiful. The romance was a little take it or leave it but overall, it was a good movie. Yeah, I think this was the surprise of the summer, so we give it a "Watch".
