President Bush Makes Matt Blush

President Bush added a little laughter to a very sad day in an interview for The Today Show with Matt Lauer this morning. The President entered the Oval Office for a 9/11 remembrance interview holding a picture of Matt in his swimsuit in an issue of People. The adorable Matt, whose pic went for more money than Matthew McConaughey, was completely embarrassed. Here's more:

...Bush entering the Oval Office holding a copy of People magazine opened to the page with a bare-chested Matt Lauer. The president jokes, "Can I have an autograph?" Lauer responds: "Oh, do not start with this. That's just not nice [pointing to the picture]. The amazing thing is they put my head on your body." Bush: "I don't spend that much time at the gym."

no tink we can crack a smile and the pres can make jokes 364 days a year, but on 9/11 he needs to be a little more respectful to the families and friends of the people who were lost on HIS watch. Make that 363..he needs to also buck up on the anniversary of Katrina too. Make that 362 the anniversary of starting the personal vendetta war that has no never end.

firstly how can u have a president that doesnt read? Secondly he didnt even care when the actual event happened, so why would he care now 5 years later?? The man is an idiot who single handedly ruined the world! Has anyone seen the documentary 9/11?? thats something everyone must watch

To everyone saying how insensitive his comment was, I would love to hear your thoughts on Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlie Sheen, etc. 9/11 is a depressing subject-- there's nothing wrong with a harmless joke to lighten the mood.

I think he is so out of touch with the American people and really insensitive to people tuning in to hear what the POTUS has to say on the eve of the 9/11 anniversary.

I think Ginger's sock puppet could do a better job leading this country..but whatever. It would be more funny if he wasn't such an embarrassment. And yes..he admitted recently to reading more books..when asked to descibe his reading list his response was "its epileptic" instead of eclectic. Thats not funny..it's scary. Just like his "Is our children learning?" Not really funny when you really think about it. After 911 and Katrina.. I am not sure that I want my President to amuse me.. I think I would rather he lead my country..protect its borders..concern himself with our soldiers who are sacrificing all on foriegn land and protect ALL of its citizens here at home.

I have no reason to be offended by his little joke, my comment was more general. I'm for Jon Stewart for President, I wouldn't be so upset when Presidential things interfere with the television schedule if i got to watch Jon.
