A Prince at Play: Harry Rocks the Warrior Games During His US Tour

Prince Harry showed off his athletic skills in Colorado Springs, CO, yesterday when he played in a seated volleyball match at the Warrior Games, an Olympics-style event for disabled and wounded veterans. He put a United Kingdom Armed Forces jersey over his fatigues to take part in the match, which involved him joking around with the other team and falling over himself to save the ball. Earlier in the day, Captain Wales, as he is known in the British Army, was on hand to light the torch at the opening ceremonies for the games and mingle with spectators and athletes. The competitors on the Warrior Games' British team reportedly found the prince easy to talk to and shared their stories. One British Army captain said, "He knows what it's like out there. He's been on the ground and in the air." Harry has previously served two tours in Afghanistan, the most recent one ending in January.

Yesterday marked the third day in Prince Harry's weeklong tour of United States, which so far has taken him to Washington DC to meet with Senator John McCain and Michelle Obama on Thursday and had him singing "Happy Birthday" to Missy Franklin in Denver, CO, on Friday. He'll soon head back to the East Coast where he will visit New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut over the coming days.
