Product Review: Urban Decay Wallpaper Shadow Box

Buy it here.

Urban Decay shadows are my favorite, so I was really stoked to try this baby out. Unfortunately, I should've realized that every time I try glittery shadows, I'm disappointed. I love shimmery shadows but I hate big honkin' hunks of glitter. And five of the nine shadows in this palette were chock-full of glitter. And I already had one of the non-glitter shadows. So I returned it and got something else (which I also returned. More on that later).

The colors were awesome and they go on very nicely as all UD shadows do. I feel bad giving it a bad review because it's really just a personal preference.

The colors, L-R are:

Grind (glittery)
Shotgun (glittery)
Last Call (not glittery and AWESOME. Will pick this up at a later date)
Asphyxia (not glittery. Pretty cool color but I didn't love it)
Uzi (glittery)
Shattered (not glittery. Again, a pretty cool color but I didn't love it. It's more just that I'm not into blues)
Smog (not glittery. I love this color and already own it)
Chopper (glittery. Shame because the color is awesome)
Midnight Cowboy (glittery. I love the color and I'm pretty sure they make a non-glittery version that I absolutely HAVE to pick up)

Anyway, I'm going to give it a decent review because it's not UD's fault that I hate glitter. If you don't mind glitter, you may want to pick it up.

Thank you for the review, I almost bought this palette yesterday and I am glad I didn't. I am not a huge fan of glitter either. :)

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with this palette either - I cannot STAND glitter. Of all of the colors, the only one I have is Smog, which is a staple in my color wardrobe.

It drives me nuts that they still put sponge applicators in, too! Pony up for a brush or just leave it out! And I return anything I don't love. Why should I pay $30-$50 for something and just kind of like it!? And I've wondered about the same thing. When I returned a Laura Mercier palette to the store last month, I was talking to the clerk about it and she implied she was going to try it. So, I think maybe they do have that giant bin...? Maybe our former Sephora employee BPJ can educate us. :?

Love the colors (other than the blue), but I am with you on the glitter. On another note, I had no idea you could return things you'd tried! That is awesome! I am definitely going to utilize that from now on.

I always wondered the same thing, Whip. That's why I hardly ever return makeup, unless there is something REALLY wrong with it -- I feel too guilty and wasteful.

I agree, Aud. I have no idea why they put them in there. What does Sephora do with all the returned makeup they get? I wonder if there's a giant bin at headquarters where the employees can take all the defective makeup they want.
