Harry Potter Fans, Here's the Broom-Filled Quidditch World Cup

Quidditch made its way to Myrtle Beach, SC, over the weekend, bringing with it plenty of broom-riding athletes and snitches. Created by author J.K. Rowling for her Harry Potter book series, quidditch is now a very real, competitive coed sport. And while the athletes may not technically be "riding" brooms, participants do have to play with broomsticks between their legs at all times. The annual Quidditch World Cup first kicked off in 2007, and although it started as a competition between two schools in the Northeast, it's now an international affair that features the top 80 teams in the sport.

This year's competitions brought out teams from big-name universities like Harvard, Syracuse, Stanford, UCLA, the University of Michigan, the University of Texas, the University of Kansas, and more. It was a Texas battle in the finals, with the University of Texas beating Texas State University to capture its second consecutive championship. Keep reading for a look at all the action from this year's Quidditch World Cup.
