Pregnant Reese Witherspoon Accepts Honors and Talks Baby

Reese Witherspoon flew out to Chicago to hit the red carpet and accept the renaissance award honors at the Gene Siskel Film Center on Saturday. Reese was without husband Jim Toth for pictures, but she still had a big smile on her face and joked about her growing baby bump. Reese talked about her pregnancy at the event saying, "Frankly I’m feeling very round tonight." She also spoke about her next film, Devil's Knot, which she shot in Arkansas, "It’s about a crime that occurred in 1993. It happened in Arkansas, and it’s what I’d say is a very American story. And after I finish that, I’m going to take a little time off — and go have a baby."

What does she specifically add to Devils Knot that cannot be contributed by another actress? I get the impression that she is the one holding onto that role with both hands, begging them to keep her despite her obvious pregnancy that will have to either be written in or somehow gotten around. She's said in interviews that her children are the most important part of her life, yet she doesn't seem to have prioritized them, even when she is pregnant and preparing to add another. She says after this film she's going to take some time off? What? Two months? She keeps announcing upcoming projects.
