Rihanna Talks Chris and Moving On, Says "F Love" on GMA

Rihanna sat down with Diane Sawyer to talk about last February's incident with Chris Brown. We have a peek at the first part of the interview that aired today on Good Morning America, which will be followed with another portion on tomorrow's 20/20. Rihanna opens up to Diane about having gone back to Chris after the assault and also shares about how she found the strength to finally leave him. It's pretty amazing to have Rihanna finally sharing her side of the story, so take a look at the video and let us know what you think.

I wasn't impressed with the interview at all..I thought she played the victim well but she left out how abusive she was..I have a son and I wouldn't agree with him hitting a women but I do teach him to defend his self..rihanna was in no way abused by chris..I feel like he made a bad decision that night when he hit her back.. I think you can provoke a person and that's what she did..most women that are being abused don't try to hit the person that beat there @$$ nor provoke...she was shocked because she didn't think he would do anything while she hit on him and now she's wanting sympathy and I don't have it for her..I don't think she was being brave at all..being brave is telling it all not bits and pieces that make her look good..so chris brown I forgive you and rihanna I wish you well...I hope they both find happiness..and for the narrow minded people out there that just blames chris..if you haven't every regreted making a bad choice then you aren't of this earth so you should call yourself God ! We all make make mistakes and we ask god for forgiveness and he forgives and that's what its about..

Loryn - ia about the influence of celebrities on kids (it's more to do with family and peers) but I think there is a big difference between someone going and doing something because a public figure did it, and someone justifying something after they've seen a public figure do it. Sadly I do think a lot of women would have used something like this as a part of the justification for going back to an abusive partner. It would just be so easy to tell themselves, that if someone so beautiful, strong, successful & financally well off went back, then why shouldn't I?'

i commend her for speaking out about the abuse and warning young girls about the danger of being in an abusive relationship. I believe that the fact her album is dropping soon is irrelevant. Her story needs to be heard whenever she was ok to share it with the world...Publicity stunt or not she had VERY important lessons to share with young girls...

These self righteous people are killing me. How do you know what reason she's speaking out on this issue. She obviously had to speak about it one day being that she's a public figure. Some of these people's reasoning is seriously flawed and to the 17 year old, keep living.

To the people saying that this is rehersed and its to promote her album, please think before you speak. Clearly you have never been through something like this but this interview seems raw and genuine. "Why wait almost a year"? Because for a long time, even thinking back about it can make one sob. The scars and pain last forever. Be more sensitive.

That's just sad. You could really tell how much she went through, just by how unsteady her voice was. I hope people realize now how hurtful it was to criticize someone so harshly who was a victim and stuggeling like anyone else would in this situation.

As a 17 year old I really think people read wayyy to much into the celebrities influence over us teenagers thing...we're able to make out own decisions and we know clearly the differences between right and wrong - it doesn't matter what a celebrity does. All I'm interested in is that this brave young woman, not much older than myself, takes care of herself first - don't worry about us, worry about this beautiful young talent. I know others aren't the same as me though so I am glad she has adressed the issue. I'm glad she spoke when she was ready and didn't rush her healing process and speak out just so she can 'protect us teenagers'. I'm proud of you Rih, I'm just glad your on your way back to the top! Well done

i'm excited to see the rest of the interview tonight, and i havenot been excited to see anything on network tv all year. anyways it seems like she will have compelling things to say and im glad shes speaking out

I don't dislike Rihanna but I think it's convenient that she finally decides to do an interview before her cd and single drop.Why wait almost a year.I'm just not buying it.

Yeah, she has an album to promote so it's best to get the interview about her beating over and done with. Would she be able to promote the album without the media asking about it?

I agree, Cynical. I really don't mind Rihanna but this interview seems a little rehearsed to me. Also, I realize that she may be extremely influential over the tween/teen age group but I hope that that wasn't her only motive for leaving CB. While very thoughtful, she is a human being and in this very serious situation she needs to put herself first, take back control of her life and hopefully send a positive message across (which i'm not so sure she did, see #6) but let other people take care of themselves as you cannot carry the burden of other people's troubles when you're unfit and too vulnerable to do so. I'm sorry but this clip makes it seem like she's trying to gain a few more fans. I don't mean any disrespect and really do wish her well.

Anonymous--she NEVER filed charges against him. The state files charges in this situation. He plead guilty. He is a convicted felon. And who care if she has an album to promote? It's not up to you to decide when she should talk about this horrific event. If her story helps one person get out of a violent situation, than its worth it.

Maybe I am a cynic, but Rihanna not what I would term brave. If she were, she would have practised what she preached by taking the stand against CB and not dropping the charges. This is well-timed to take advantage of having an album to promote, and it's vaguely shameful that she talks of ditching him when thinking of other women in a similar situation. Following through on the legal side would have been more appropriate. I remain a fan and wish her all the best, but the cynic had to speak out.

With that said, I'm glad that she recognized that other people might be influenced by what they see her do. Many people didn't give her the benefit of the doubt in regards to her being an imperfect person, and quickly judged that she deserved whatever she got because she went back to him.

I applaud her for coming to the public when she was good and ready. I remember when she went back to him and everyone was on her case about being an "example" for women. She's human too (we forget that sometime with celebrities) and she needed to come to terms with herself before owing anything to anyone else.

i hate how tv channels do this, dissect a person's interview in ten million pieces to cash in as much as they cant.. this isnt some scoop, this a story that needs to be told, not sold.. kudos to her though for speaking out about this, no matter how fragmented the channel made it to be
