Robert Pattinson: Twilight Was "One of the Hardest Jobs I've Ever Done"

May 28 2014 - 11:30am

Robert Pattinson [1] has made big career changes since the Twilight Saga series ended in 2012, including his newest projects The Rover [2] and Maps to the Stars [3], both of which just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. However, Rob told The Hollywood Reporter [4] in its June 6 issue that he almost didn't become an actor at all after a "gut-wrenching" failed first audition. The same went for Twilight, a role for which he "just bullsh*tted on the phone" with the director, didn't take his shirt off in the audition when he was supposed to, and barely landed the job in the end. With his vampire days behind him, he's made other changes to his life, including downsizing from his mansion that felt "like Versailles" and losing plenty of money to former costar Kellan Lutz [5] over games of poker. And as for his connections to Kristen Stewart [6]? When asked if they're still in contact, he responded blithely, "Oh, yeah."
