Same Old Mariah

After a quick trip to St Tropez, Mariah headed to Tunis to perform there for the first time. She is back on tour for the first time in three years. The singer was "accompanied by a crew of 50 people including her hairdresser, personal masseur, bodyguards, the members of her orchestra and technicians." Too bad there is no stylist. She could use a little guidance.

OK, I was being a bitch: I don't think Mariah was ever fat. I think her body is a great example of un-Hollywood type beauty. HOWEVER -- CaliGirl and all -- while I appreciate your replies attesting to the "fact" that Carey isn't a slut, I'm pretty sure that marrying the man who catapulted her to fame and riches makes her something of a hoor. Also, after she broke free of grody Mattola, the slew of rappers and music thugs that helped her reach a new market probably weren't doing it 'cause they respected her musical integrity. I'm sure there were a few pig roasts in that trade :) Like I said, no one reeeeally knows who's a slut and who isn't. But this is popsugar, not the Supreme Court. Why put someone on trial for a flippant comment? And Cali, I find it amusing that you think Mariah has "earned the right" to dress the way she does. Women should be able to dress however they want, whether any audience believes they've *earned* it or not. But the choice to dress like a common tramp brings with it implicity standards of judgement. I could be a single mother of three who split the atom and saved the earth from a giant terrorist asteroid from the planet TomCruise...but if I go out dressed like I take nickels for blow jobs, people are going to assume that I do. she had a great voice when she did all of the belting ballads, had 300% more credibility as an artist.. and yet she's reverted to draping herself on louis vuitton luggage, wearing close to nothing surrounded by rappers. Never saw it coming. I wish she'd grow up and act her age. She could be classy and admirable.. just needs to reinvent herself once more ..and lose the butterflies (yeah, i know, butterflies are gorgeous.. and i like ferrets and geckos and stuff, but you don't see me wearing them)

I'm kind of embarrassed for Mariah. She acts like a defenseless two-year old on stage when she's singing 'live', something she rarely does anymore. And her only redeeming quality - her voice - has degenerated into airy sighs since the late 90s when she broke free from Tommy Matola and started taking her clothes off everywhere. A big shame. How old is she again? I tend to forget...

lmao @ ephemeral! blind hairless mole jewelry would be super hard to find. im with shiloh on this one...the girl can sing, who cares what she wears, b/c the ppl that go see her sing know that she dresses a certain way. *stands up and applauds* go cali you nailed it, she was never a slut. NEVER. that word is tossed around so much that it is annoying to hear anymore. am i a slut because i dress accordingly to how good my body looks? i like v-necks and mini's so does that make me bad...no. i have slept with one man ever and i like to dress sexy. it is what it is, but that doesnt make me sleazy or slutty cause i like to show off what i look good in! jk you are right we rag on people for what they wear, its just when ppl throw around certain words that dont fit is when some of us get defensive... im not getting defensive just stating my opinion.

I agres yayita...if she did not have talent for me it would be different issue. But lets not lose sight of the fact we rag on Paris...Britney and other stars for the way they dress ALL THE TIME, we judge the off duty clothes, the Oscar, Emmy and Grammy outfits and that is mainly the point of this site....let's not contridict ourselves or take this too seriously ladies.

You said it Caligirl!! I can't stand women trashing other women just because of how they dress. It really pisses me off! I don't know why women are so catty, while men stick together. Regardless, we must give Mariah props for all she's accomplished and survived. So what if she loves trashy clothes, in no way does it reflect who she is as a person. You never hear anything negative about her personal life in the press so I think she's handling herself in a positive way. I do however wish she would find a partner and have babies :)

If this was anyone else I would rag on them, but this kind of outfit is what I would expect from Mariah. I just love her hair natural and curly...reminds me of her..."Vision of Love"..".Dream Lover" days when she was pretending to be innocent.
