Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. Are Expecting!

Great news! Sarah Michelle Gellar is pregnant with her first child, their rep confirmed to People. She and Freddie Prinze Jr. have been married for six years and both have new pilots coming out this Fall. She will return to TV on HBO's The Wonderful Maladays while he recently shot a pilot for a new comedy, No Heroics. Also in the Fall, we can expect the new addition to the family. Congrats to SMG and Freddie!

bcjs - Yes, the couple who has remained purposely low key for the past nine years that they've been together...is now having a baby together for the publicity. You're so logical, you must be a lawyer. Firstly, their publicists have yet to confirm this news. For all we know, it could be bs although People is reporting it as fact. They've been together for a long while and haven't had kids, which is why this news is everywhere. If you haven't noticed, the public is really invested in celebrity babies and whether or not a couple is having/has kids. It's not as though they're the only ones out of tons of celebrities who are getting this attention. FPJ quit acting because he got tired of it and he's not a fan of the Hollywood lifestyle; they're both like that, which is why they remain boring. I don't think they mind that their private life isn't tabloid fodder and I can't imagine them being happy that the news is now everywhere. They've tried keeping their relationship pretty quiet so I don't know what makes you think this is simply for publicity.

Well one thing for sure - this baby thing put them back in the public eye. Let's face it - no one was interested in their lives for one nanosecond last week but today they are everywhere. Great publicists! I personally would rather read about their great acting skills (not gonna happen) than something that occurs everyday to thousands of couples who are satisfied that just their family and friends share the news of their pregnancy. I'm happy for them but I hope this baby is not a desparate reason for a little attention.
