Selena Gomez Talks Taylor Swift, Justin, and Giving Back in Glamour

Selena Gomez looks holiday-ready on the cover of Glamour's December issue, wearing a silky Zac Posen gown and surrounded by balloons. The 20-year-old singer, actress, and philanthropist was named one of Glamour's 2012 Women of the Year, and she sat down with the magazine to talk about her experiences as the youngest-ever US ambassador for UNICEF. She also chatted about her upbringing, best friend Taylor Swift, and, of course, her boyfriend, Justin Bieber. She'll be officially honored at the Women of the Year Awards in NYC on Nov. 12. On her UNICEF charity work: "I went to Ghana with my mom and my stepdad for UNICEF; that entire trip was life-changing. These kids want an education so badly. I mean, I hated homework, and they want it; it's amazing. I also participated in the Global Poverty Project's Live Below the Line campaign, where I lived on $1.50 a day for a week — such a cool experience."
On not letting negativity affect her: "If I had let all of the negative stuff affect me, I don't think I would be satisfied with the person I am now. My mom always told me, “Just turn the other cheek and keep moving forward.” That's something I've always done, and now I look back and I have no regrets."
On keeping in touch with Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber: "I actually did talk to Taylor last week, and we were like, 'I don't even remember the last time I saw you,' which is really unfortunate. But if it gets too dire, I fly to Taylor, or I fly to Justin."
