Hi there, I'm Lauren Bradshaw, Hollywood and President Obama are speaking out on the heartbreaking story coming out of Colorado, after a shooter opened fire during a midnight showing of the Dark Knight Rises. We're taking a look at what happened and on Hollywood and the stars of the film themselves are reacting in today's PopSugar Rush. The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters today to tragedy. The sole suspect, a twenty-four year old James Holmes is now in police custody after reportedly releasing a gas canister and opening fire during a showing at a theater in Aurora, Colorado. Killing twelve with an estimated fifty more still injured. Holmes was apprehended without struggle. Now, a chilling detail about this story is that the moviegoers originally thought it was part of the show. And this morning people across the country are in shock over the news. President Obama cut a cam stopped short in Florida to address the nation sharing how he was particularly shaken by the event as he thought about his own daughters going to the movies as you can see in this footage from ABC. What if Malia and Sasha had been in the theater, as so many of our kids do everyday? Michelle and I will be fortunate enough to hug our girls a little tighter tonight and I'm sure you will do the same with your children but for those parents who may not be so lucky, we have to embrace them and let them know we will be there for them as a nation. Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, also reacted quickly. The cast was originally scheduled to debut the movie this evening and Paris, but has now cancelled the premiere along with press interviews out of respect to the events which have taken pace. Warner Bros. released a statement saying: "Warner Bros. is deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time. Along with The Dark Knight Rises stars, celebrities including Chris Evans and Ryan Seacrest have also shared their condolences with the families of the victims Eva Longoria tweeted, "My heart goes out to the people affected in the Aurora, Colorado shooting. May God be with that town and their families." We'd like to send our thoughts as well to the victims and their families and friends as they go through this unimaginably difficult time. I'm Lorna Bradshaw and I'll see you next time on PopSugar Rush.
