Stones Trump U2

After Madonna rocked my world, U2 is my second favorite show. I love seeing them live. While I have not had the chance or really the desire to see The Rolling Stones, I can see how they took the top title this year as the top grossing tour knocking U2 off the #1 spot. Here's more:

Since August 2005, the band have grossed $437m (£226m), playing 110 shows in front of 3.5 million fans. The Stones' success comes despite the tour being dogged by delays and cancellations due to throat problems for lead singer Sir Mick Jagger, 63.

Irish rock group U2 previously held the record for the top-grossing tour, according to Billboard. Their recent Vertigo tour grossed $377m (£195m).

Well, the thing is, U2 probably have quite some years left in them. The Rolling Stones are so old! They're probably not gonna last too much longer. ____________________________________ Don't tick me off. Or you'll get it.

U2 is the best live act I have ever seen. They are awesome- every time. Tori Amos and the Cure are probably next...

My 1st concert ever was the Stones Voodoo Lounge tour when I was 11. My dad took me & it was the most awesome thing ever! I LOVE U2 & want to see them more than anything. These 2 bands are tied for #1 favorite for me...

i saw U2 at yankee stadium, 1992, "zooropa" tour. hands down the best show i've ever seen. the stones might be legends themselves, but they pale in personality and pure sex appeal next to U2. and the stones music has gotten a bit tiring the last few years, while U2 just keep hitting that spot on me that makes me love ROCK -n- ROLL............... and esp rock in roll MEN.

Sheesh, Edge. Don't hurt yourself there. :-o I just saw four U2 shows when they were in Australia recently. They were fantastic.

I am SO with you on that Padraigin! My friend went to Ireland for a semester abroad when she was in college. She ran into The Edge and Bono at some pub, and actually wound up talking to them for a few minutes. She said they were both really nice, gracious, and better looking in person. BTW, this was the same friend I went to that concert with. I was so jealous!

The Edge does it for me so much more than Bono. I like Bono's mind, but the edge... umph.

The only U2 show I've ever been to was from their POP tour. Admittedly not their best, but the show was still awesome. They had a little stage that they walked out to so they were near the middle of the stadium and they played a few songs acoustic out there, inc With or Without You. My friend and I were about 6 rows back from that small stage, and it just blew our minds. It was so awesome! I agree, nyaradzom2001. Bono is still sexy as hell, but I would definetly like to hit it with the Edge. Yum!

Love U2 and they put on a great show, but the Stones... they're legendary!! I was blown away by them when I saw them recently.

i just saw the stones. i wasnt too sure at first as it had been rescheduled but it was amazing, they did a ton of old stuff and a few rarities, it was almost as if the band wanted to apologize for the drama (which mick did repeatedly) i have been many shows, but the stones will always be my favorite :JAWDROP:
