Oprah Winfrey has topped the list of TV Guide's highest paid television stars. That's to be expected, but the list did have quite a few surprises. - BuzzSugar

I used to watch The View all of the time when it first started but now I only tape it when there is a guest on the show that I like. I bought one of Mindy McCready's tapes (yes, tape) but don't think I ever listened to it. :ROTFL:

LorenAshley - I agree with you. Bob Johnson is the first black male billionaire and I have never heard of any charitable work he's done in or out of the country, but no one questions it. Oprah being a billionaire is not heartbreaking - she worked really hard for what she has. To go from living in a house with no electricity as a child to being a billionaire and the woman she is today is amazing. I don't fault any person for being extremely wealthy, especially someone who inspires millions of people and gives so much.

-I really am indifferent about Oprah BUT I do feel that it is unvalidated and obscene for anyone to make that much money. Its it unnecessary and heartbreaking that she has all that money, yes she does do some good with it and that is commendable but overall the last thing this world needs is another billionaire. She should be giving away a lot more then she does but then again there are some people who don't give sh*t way, just my 2 cents. -I hope Etta gets better she is one of my favs.-I could care less about the view they all seem like a bunch of cynical, overrated woman with nothing better to do then talk sh*t about people they are most likely jealous of. I cant stand cattiness and it obviously runs deep on the set of that show.-Tyra is whack and beyond annoying, girlfriend just does not know when to STFU. Seriously.

tatti back home on tv there were 6 german channels and even though I could only catch a word here and there i still loved watching them lol and in Italy i loved their afternoon talk shows. No self help, or get rich schemes just good ol fashioned DRAMA.

also, no one ever talks about bob johnson. the man who founded BET. i NEVER hear anything about him being charitable. he might be but i hear nothing about it. it's only a big deal cause it's oprah and bob johnson is not as famous as she. and she's also a woman and women tend to get super jealous of other women who are more successful than they are.

Ashkell, why not start where Angelina gives....1/3 of her salary. Or perhaps Bill Gates who gives tons more then Oprah. In fact, the majority of his estate, upon his death, goes to charity. Even Rosie O'Donnell...she gives enormous amounts of money without the press. Oprah promotes Oprah. Now I have to leave for the day...have a nice one.

ashkeli..i totally agree.oprah is NOT racist. she gives more money than many other people, some who are way richer than she. people love to complain about everything, the woman has help raise SOOOO much money for katrina victims. her angel network has build many homes. she has done better than this that thing we call a government.as for the school in Africa. I doubt she is done building schools. she went over to one country in africa and gave the kids money, school clothes, food for month and plenty of other stuff. you people are acting like she needs to rescue the whole damn world. she is only one person. one thing at a time people.
