Sundance Film Festival Movies 2012

Hi, I'm Shannon Vestal from BuzzSugar. On this week's episode of The Buzz, I'm in San Francisco while Becky is at the Sundance Film Festival to fill us in on the movies that everyone's talking about. Sundance seems to get bigger and bigger every year. It gives attention to a lot of smaller films and it's a place for celebrities to see and be seen. It also tends to serve as a jumping off point for movies that become critical hits later and some of our favorites like "Little Miss Sunshine", "500 Days of Summer" and "The Kids Are All Right." So let's hear from Becky about the next crop of Sundance hits. Hi, we're here at Sundance down on Main Street, where it is very obviously snowing. We've been here for a few days seeing lots of celebrities, doing red carpets, checking out movies. We've had a chance to talk to the likes of John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Alison Brie and so many more. I've seen a bunch of movies so far, but I think my favorite is "Celeste and Jesse Forever". It stars Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg. My character's a lot like me, which is why I wanted to do it. They play a couple that's going through a breakup. It's just really sweet, really funny. It's got Andy Samberg doing something a little different from his normal SNL thing. He's doing something a little more serious. It's was really cute, it made me laugh, it made me cry. I can definitely see this one on the big screen. So it's a really nice for me too. Night. Night. Love you. Love you too. This year, there is not as many that are getting tons of buzz. You hear things here things here and there. I've heard on the bus a couple people raving about this documentary called "Searching for Sugar Man." Here he was on the cover, and sort of a hippie, with shades, but nobody knew anything about him. He was a mystery. I also chatted with some movie lovers at the festival about which films they've liked so far. We've seen a Chilenian movie called "Violeta Went to Heaven". This morning we saw "Red Hook Summer". "My Father's Chair". "Smashed." " Lay the Favorite." A documentary about bananas. My favorite movie that I've seen at Sundance so far is "I'm not a Hipster." It takes place in San Diego about an artist who is struggling in his family, but is very, very good. The music was fantastic, and the acting was fantastic. I agree with that. My favorite movie so far is a Lebanese movie called "Where Do We Go Now?" It was about the conflict, the Civil War, in Lebanon. We were really proud of the cinematographer because it was a girl. And she was an actress, she was the main actress and she was a director. So I just left the 'Surrogate' with Helen Hunt and John Hocks and William H. Macy. It's based on a story of a man who is confined to an iron lung and hired a sexual surrogate to lose his virginity. I promise you, Oscar for John Hocks.
