Recently named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential women, Amy Poehler came on The View today to share her thoughts on the achievement. I found it refreshing that the Parks and Recreation star thanked her childcare staff, admitting that in fact she can't do it all — career and family — herself. And of course Amy added some humor to the interview, showing off her Dougie dance skills just like Michelle Obama did earlier this week. Apparently the Dougie is popular among influential women!
This morning on The View, Jennifer Hudson talks about this season of American Idol and the perception that the judges are being too nice. She says that Simon Cowell was a good example of how the music business can treat you, and that she prefers notes and constructive criticism to nonstop praise. We also get a look at her new movie Winnie, about the life of Winnie Mandela, set to be released in September.
International Women's Day had Russell Brand feeling the love for the ladies of The View today. On the show, he opened up about the one special woman in his life, wife Katy Perry. When asked how the first few months of married life is treating him, Russell confessed Katy is treating him like a butler! The former wild child also shared that he's traded a life of "chaos, glass, blood, and madness" for a more normal domestic existence. See Russell explain it with his sly British wit, and find out why the pop pair got married in India in the video below.
Jennifer Aniston got candid with the ladies of The View about her recent interview with People Magazine. She addresses exactly what she thought made it so revealing and also confirms again that she's actually really happy, despite the public's perception of her! Also, don't miss our amazing I'm a Huge Fan starring Jennifer Aniston herself!
Jennifer Aniston tells the women of The View about the bachelorette party activity that inspired her new scent.
Jennifer Garner stopped by The View in NYC this morning before heading to a Save the Children charity event, where she and a group of kids packed up healthy snacks to send to classrooms in Kentucky. On the morning show, Jennifer discussed the philanthropic cause close to her heart and all about her experience filming Arthur alongside Russell Brand, saying everyone on the set fell in love with the raunchy Brit. Now that the movie has wrapped and Fall is here, Jennifer is devoting her time to mommy-and-me outings with her own two kids. She said the girls haven't decided on their Halloween costumes quite yet, though Violet is in charge and last year went as The Little Mermaid with Sera as Flounder. Despite Jennifer's devotion to family, she admitted that while she'd love to work with a director as talented as her husband, Ben Affleck, as a wife the prospect doesn't appeal to her!

Victoria Beckham modeled her own denim and carried a piece from her new bag collection on one of its first outings heading out to tape The View in NYC this morning. Her interview doesn't air until Friday, but NYFW is sure to be a topic of conversation after she showed her latest Victoria Beckham Collection on Sunday. Her designs are already a hit with celebrity friends like Naomi Campbell and Eva Longoria who have been spotted in her form-fitting dresses. Posh has been twittering up a storm from Fashion Week, detailing her daily outfits and fun nights out with the stylish set. While she enjoys her time in the spotlight, David has been back home in LA celebrating his own success and marked his triumphant return to soccer over the weekend with a pre-VMAs soiree.

Obama sat in the pop culture hot seat yesterday with the ladies of The View. Does he know Lindsay Lohan's in jail? Yup. What does he think of Mel Gibson? He'd rather talk Afghanistan. And his opinion on Snooki? Who's Snooki again? The president proved he knows a little bit about the more shallow news that deeply saturates the media; but he's not too hip with the fluffy stuff — he has a day job after all.
Meghan McCain thinks that despite his spotty record on Jersey Shore, the president spends too much time talking about pop culture considering all the problems in the world. She writes:
We live in scary times during which unemployment continues to rise, we just surpassed day 100 of the worst oil spill in history, and, this week, the largest leak of classified information in American history was released about the war in Afghanistan. I don’t care what the president currently has downloaded on his iPod.
Obama spends a lot more time dealing with the crises Meghan mentions than he does cracking dorky jokes. And as the daughter of John McCain, she clearly has a bias. But do you think she also has a point that his lighthearted moments are inappropriate for these times?
In a historic event, President Obama appeared on The View yesterday, and amid questions from the hosts about pop culture (he knew Lindsay was in jail, but has no idea who Snooki is), he mentioned — as we knew — that he wasn't writing his own tweets.
And when they asked who was responsible for the tweets, he replied, "I think there's an official President's tweet, but some 20 year old is doing a lot of the tweeting."
He also dished about his phone choice (he's still rocking his Presidential BlackBerry in lieu of an iPhone), and he has a ton of songs on his iPod. "You name a song, I've got it," he says, although clarifies it does not contain any Justin Bieber.
