Recently named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential women, Amy Poehler came on The View today to share her thoughts on the achievement. I found it refreshing that the Parks and Recreation star thanked her childcare staff, admitting that in fact she can't do it all — career and family — herself. And of course Amy added some humor to the interview, showing off her Dougie dance skills just like Michelle Obama did earlier this week. Apparently the Dougie is popular among influential women!

Jennifer Garner Gives Her View on Violet and Seraphina's Halloween Plans
Jennifer Garner stopped by The View in NYC this morning before heading to a Save the Children charity event, where she and a group of kids packed up healthy snacks to send to classrooms in Kentucky. On the morning show, Jennifer discussed the philanthropic cause close to her heart and all about her experience filming Arthur alongside Russell Brand, saying everyone on the set fell in love with the raunchy Brit. Now that the movie has wrapped and Fall is here, Jennifer is devoting her time to mommy-and-me outings with her own two kids. She said the girls haven't decided on their Halloween costumes quite yet, though Violet is in charge and last year went as The Little Mermaid with Sera as Flounder. Despite Jennifer's devotion to family, she admitted that while she'd love to work with a director as talented as her husband, Ben Affleck, as a wife the prospect doesn't appeal to her!

Her interview doesn't air until Friday, but NYFW is sure to be a topic of conversation after she showed her latest Victoria Beckham Collection on Sunday. Should Obama Stop Talking About Pop Culture?
Obama sat in the pop culture hot seat yesterday with the ladies of The View. Does he know Lindsay Lohan's in jail? Yup. What does he think of Mel Gibson? He'd rather talk Afghanistan. And his opinion on Snooki? Who's Snooki again? The president proved he knows a little bit about the more shallow news that deeply saturates the media; but he's not too hip with the fluffy stuff — he has a day job after all.
Meghan McCain thinks that despite his spotty record on Jersey Shore, the president spends too much time talking about pop culture considering all the problems in the world. She writes:
We live in scary times during which unemployment continues to rise, we just surpassed day 100 of the worst oil spill in history, and, this week, the largest leak of classified information in American history was released about the war in Afghanistan. I don’t care what the president currently has downloaded on his iPod.
Obama spends a lot more time dealing with the crises Meghan mentions than he does cracking dorky jokes. And as the daughter of John McCain, she clearly has a bias. But do you think she also has a point that his lighthearted moments are inappropriate for these times?
Who Tweets For the President? "Some 20 Year Old"
In a historic event, President Obama appeared on The View yesterday, and amid questions from the hosts about pop culture (he knew Lindsay was in jail, but has no idea who Snooki is), he mentioned — as we knew — that he wasn't writing his own tweets.
And when they asked who was responsible for the tweets, he replied, "I think there's an official President's tweet, but some 20 year old is doing a lot of the tweeting."
He also dished about his phone choice (he's still rocking his Presidential BlackBerry in lieu of an iPhone), and he has a ton of songs on his iPod. "You name a song, I've got it," he says, although clarifies it does not contain any Justin Bieber.
