Tobey Maguire Hangs With Ruby While a New Star Joins The Great Gatsby Cast

Tobey Maguire held hands with his daughter Ruby leaving her Santa Monica school yesterday. He came prepped with an after-school snack and carried her lunch box while she modeled a princess tiara. It's been a while since Tobey's put out a new project but he's been busy behind the scenes putting new projects together. He graciously passed along the Spider-Man franchise to Andrew Garfield and offered words of encouragement to the young star while Tobey himself accepted new and highly anticipated roles. He's attached to at least three major projects, Life of Pi, The Paperboy, and The Great Gatsby. Tobey's teaming up with his real-life pal Leonardo DiCaprio on Baz Luhrmann's 3D remake of Gatsby and this week the final key player, Joel Edgerton, accepted the part of Tom Buchanan.

Now this is a "hand on" Dad and his daughter is adorable! I'm glad to hear he's got a lot of work coming out soon. I thought his performance in Jim Sheridan's (I love this Director) Brothers with Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman was so powerful and brilliant! All the performances were great but he stole the film. I was expecting tons of movies after that but I guess it takes a while and meanwhile he can spend time with his kids! :)
