Though Tyra Banks may not have the same supermodel body that she did ten years ago, she feels like she is just as fierce as ever, and challenges anyone who has the audacity to call her, at 161 lbs., fat. With the success of America's Next Top Model and her daytime talk show, Tyra has finally been able to stop stressing so much about her weight and instead focus on these new facets of her career. People reports:
- "I get so much mail from young girls who say, 'I look up to you, you're not as skinny as everyone else, I think you're beautiful,' " she says. "So when they say that my body is 'ugly' and 'disgusting,' what does that make those girls feel like?"
- "I still feel hot, but every day is different. It's when I put on the jeans that used to fit a year ago and don't fit now and give me the muffin top, that's when I say, 'Damn!' "
- "I've made millions of dollars with the body I have, so where's the pain in that? If I was in pain, I would have dieted. The pain is not there – the pain is someone printing a picture of me and saying those (horrible) things."
I'm doubtful that the criticism of Tyra's new form is over, but at least she doesn't seem overly phased by it. Besides, she's got better things to do with her time, like organize Panty Parties and plot her next undercover investigation into the seedy underbelly of waxing parlors.
