I love eclecticism. I just feel in some strange way that is the best of being an actor. Just put the thing there, almost like a mask. And in a way, actually, it collaborates for what the character is all about. He hides behind everything.
This year we've seen you in so many different roles, from"The Skin I Live In" to "Puss in Boots," and now "Haywire." What is it about the different roles that is in common?
I like to visit many different genres and styles and characters. I think it is one of the most fun parts of my professional life. I understand sometimes, you know, when you are trying to create a career, career, you get contrived to do certain characters because it's going to be strange. You think, oh, I cannot do that because what is my fan club going to think about me.
I am just getting the tool for what I normally do. But I love eclectism to I just let feel in some strange way that is the best of being an actor.
And in this film for the beginning you have quite a full beard, what was the genesis for that look?
It was an accident. I was doing a workshop for a musical salvo the Greek at Broadway. That's when giving sort about a interview with me, and he liked it, and he used it, and I thought it was great, you know. The character was no stand and so we can just put the thing there almost like a mask. And in a way actually collaborates for what the character is all about.
He hides behind everything, you never suspect that actually this kind of employ and you know the grow with the Michael Douglas, he's actually the brain behind the whole entire production.
And now isn't it the second time for you and Peter Meadow a for the award nominations for The Skin I Live In? How do you guys feel about that, and are you celebrating at all? you know, no, not much celebration. It's nice, but you have to take words, you know I like to add to more of that big dose of a sense of humor especially in our world.
You know, it's very subjective. If you and I, we go now to see a movie, it may happen not, but he may have been the movie, and and it doesn't mean anything. It just means that, you know, we are all individuals and we just perceive reality beauty in a different way.
