Yeah, I don't really think the term 'Indian giver' can be considered a slip-up or insensitive. I'm no Jessica Simpson fan, but I think she's being unfairly targeted here.

Agreed, it's nothing you or I haven't said. Also, who actually brings to mind the historical meaning behind the term when they casually say it? If NOT pretending to be some sort of intellectual elitist (aka anonymous up there) means being classless then count me in.

It kind of shows how she's uneducated and thoughtless- if you asked her what she thought the term meant, I'm sure she has no concept of any connotations other than the negative view of Native Americans. She only thinks about herself and shows herself to be classless, self-obsessed and wilfully dumb at every opportunity.

This is ridiculous, the term "Indian Giver" has to do with the American government, and before them the British, offering land treaties to Aboriginal's and then going back on them, stripping then of their land. Other then the terminology "Indian," which although isn't currently politically correct, it is historically correct.
