After a moving tribute performance by Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson, Usher and Celine Dion, Michael Jackson's daughter Paris said "Daddy was supposed to be here" when accepting a lifetime achievement award in his honor. She was joined by her older brother Prince and other relatives at the Grammys. Watch the touching moment now.

I agree with shayloure. The comments that these aren't his kids are mostly based on visual examination and misguided beliefs that you can't be half black if you're 'too light'. Has anyone read any of the numerous, famous pieces of literature that narrate stories of mixed people that could (and would) actually pass as white or people of spanish background to gain higher social standing before the civil rights movement took place? Nella Larson's "Passing" is classic example of one of those novels. Also, I knew fraternal twins in college who were half black. One of them looked completely white with blue eyes, and the other one looked much, much darker. Color is not a reason to judge someone's genetic makeup and family ties.

MJ's children are very beautiful and showed a very high level of maturity last at the Grammy's. I don't understand why people keep saying they aren't his kids. Those kids are the same complexion as Mariah Carey, but no one has a problem believing she's 1/2 black. And her father was much darker than Michael's pre-vitiligo days. Prince's nose looks just like Michael's did before he had a nose job during the "Off The Wall" days. Paris' eyes look just like her grandfather Joe's. And Blanket, though he remained backstage at the Grammy's, has the same facial features as Michael did when he was 7. Black people we're called 'colored' people once because they come in all different shades between black and white. How easy some people forget.

Umm, anyone else notice that they CANNOT possibly be his biological children??? They are beautiful and may have some of MJ's mannerisms, but they are obviously NOT 1/2 African American! Just saying.......Very sweet tribute to their dad, he would have been proud.
