Paula Abdul performed on stage on American Idol tonight, singing her new single "I'm Just Here For The Music." She went all out from her costume to her backup dancers. Thought it rather surprisingly good, and dancing in such a way would preclude much in the way of live singing. Paula Abdul is never, never boring, yes, off the wall may be, but dull........never.

i got on her twitter. she says she's 'doing something' in vegas. does it have to do with idol i wonder or maybe cirque du soleil or maybe she's gonna open her own show? i LOVED her performance on a.i. she's so dang kewl!

intensely exciting. I mean i was anticipating this for so long and as usual paula delivered and had a blast while she did it. she really put herself out there and it was fantastic i loved it and really love her for how she keeps dancing and singing and having fun working with randy and simon on idol. Shes got a great smile and seems like she really loves all the singers on a.i. and i can't wait to see what she's gonna perform next.

that was PHENOMENAL. hands down. I'm sure she know s that the haters come in flocks to try to trash her for going for it. i say KEEP doing it till the wheels fall off, Paula. whatever you wanna do, just keep on doing it. madonna, britney, janet ( i could go on and on) ALL LIP SYNCH at some point. the dancing and singing would have them completely out of breath. i LOVE janet jackson and i've heard her lip synch through the whole concert. SO WHAT? paula really did well. her performance was exciting to watch and the song was fun and danceable. i love how she just keeps positive and continues to perform and do all kinds of stuff. let the haters hate on, paula, while you dance and sing (and even lip synch if you feel like it) all the way to the BANK. i hope she stars in a movie, a musical and everything else she feels like doing.

BACK IN THE DAY WE ALL LOVED HER IT'S THE YOUNGER GENERATION WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT HER MAN IF IT WASN'T FOR HER JANET JANCKSON WOULD STILL BE SINGING YOUNG LOVE WITH THAT RED SCARF ON ROCKING FROM SIDE TO SIDE SHE HELPED BUILD THAT WOMAN'S CAREER ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS SINGERS AND PERFORMANCES IF YOU LOOK AT VIDEOS NOW DAYS WHEN EVER YOU CAN ACTUALLY CATCH ONE YOU WILL SEE THAT ALOT OF OTHER PERFORMANERS ARE INFLUENCED BY HER ALEAST THEIR CHOREGRAPHERS ARE GO BACK AND LOOK AT HER VIDEOS AND YOU WILL SEE. SO STOP JUMPING ON THE SHE'S AN OLD DRUGGED UP HAS BEEN BAND WAGON, PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN WATCH AMERICAN IDOL DO HAVE JUMPED ON TO IT, COME ON PEOPLE LIKE I SAID EARLIER LET'S GIVE GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE ADMIT IT SHE'S STILL TALENTED, SHE'S STILL GOT IT. hEY LEAVE THE LADY ALONE AND STOP PICKING ON HER JUST FOR THE SAKE OF IT ALOT OF PEOPLE DO IT JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN AT FIRST IT WAS A JOKE NOW IT'S BECOME HATEFUL LIKE SO MANY PEOPLE ARE BECOMING THESE DAYS LOOK AT THE SHOW NOTHING HAPPENED THIS SEASON. PEOPLE ARE JUDING HER PERFORMANCES WITH ALL THE DANCING AND MOVING AROUND SHE COULD NOT HAVE PERFORMED COMPLETLEY LIVE WHO KNOWS SHE MAY HAVE BEEN SINGING ALONG TO LIVE TRACK LIKE THEY DO AT THE SUPERBOWL. PEOPLE ARE SAYING HOW COULD SHE DO THAT ON A SHOW WHRE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT SINGING, A SHOW WHERE SHE JUDGES SINGES SINGING HELL PEOPLE DIDN'T WE JUST FIND OUT THE CONTESTANS WERE NOT SINGING LIVE HALF THE TIME ON PERFORMANCE NIGHT

I kept backing up my tivo wondering if it was really her! The song was okay but I agree with the others on the poor form of lip synching. The choreography was too chaotic for me but mostly it was just weird. The media had just reported that she had been addicted to pain killers due to all her previous injuries and here she is jumping off platforms and being flipped around - weird. But the strangest part of all was her behavior in the interview with Ryan afterwards. Shouldn't she have been a bit breathless and exhilarated after a performance like that? She was oddly calm - I was still thinking maybe it wasn't her performing. I know they couldn't get away with that but so strange!
