Haha, I don't know anything about this movie(nor what the heck Anonymous is talking about) but it seems kind of arrogant and silly for him to say that this movie will show people he can act (although at least he's acknowledging that his acting history - not just Gossip Girl, but also Do Over; The Bedford Diaries, etc.) has shown he is not that great of an actor. He is good enough to be believable as a human being (which is apparently more difficult than it looks), but he really hasn't shown that he is anything more than a straight man/everman. I'm not saying he isn't good in this film, as I haven't seen it, but he should let other people make that judgement instead of inadvertently bragging and potentially being embarassed if he isn't...
Penn, don't tell me you were "acting" when we made out in your car last week, because I will be sad if that's true. You're such a nice guy and a great kisser. Kevin told me you were the real deal with a wink and a nod, so don't be less than just because this stupid company town sez so. I know you are much more.
