On how Paul Walker affected his own experience as a father: "He went into fatherhood a lot earlier than I did . . . He took on that role of kind of being the guide into fatherhood for me. It's kind of beautiful."

On becoming a father for the first time: "The one thing Paul always wanted me to do was be present at my child's birth . . . He was so adamant about it."

On the birth of his son: "When I did [Fast Five], and we were on the bridge in Puerto Rico, and we're doing the end scene, and Paul Walker and I come out of that car . . . her water broke in New York, and my son was being born. He was, like, 'We can film later. No, this is not a deal. You have to go now.'"

On the birth of his daughter: "While I was in the delivery room, I said that I felt like Paul was there. I named her Pauline . . . He was in the room. There was no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord, and it felt like a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world."
