Here's another movie to add to the list of films opening this Friday: We Are Marshall, featuring Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox, the hunky doctor from "Lost." The sentimental-looking trailer introduces us to Huntington, West Virginia, where college football is a way of life. When the town's Marshall University football team is killed in a plane crash, the townsfolk have to learn how to rebuild their lives and restore their hope with a little help from an optimistic new football coach (McConaughey). Check out the trailer below.

Matthew Will Pay To Party

Lance showed up to support his buddy for the LA premiere of We Are Marshall.

Lance showed up to support his buddy for the LA premiere of We Are Marshall. You'd think that Matthew would be tired of going to all these premieres, but it's quite the opposite. Matthew loves to go out. So much so that he just topped InTouch Weekly's list of Hollywood's Biggest Party Animals. Most stars might be offended by this, but Matthew loves that he was named The Life of the Party. He says:

"I earned that one. I like to get there (party) early and I like to be the last to leave - especially if you have some good music and good company." The star believes the secret to ultimately capturing the title is all down to his smooth moves on the dance floor. He adds, "I've probably spent I don't know how many thousands of dollars paying bands to keep playing and paying clubs to stay open, saying, `Can you just play five more songs?' And if it's a charity event or something and you can go, `OK, a thousand bucks for every song you keep playing.' "I've woken up the next morning and said, 'Whoa - my pockets are empty!'"

At least it's for a good cause! For more pics including Drew Barrymore, McG, Matthew Fox, January Jones, Arlen Escarpeta, Wes Brown, James Denton, Josh Holloway, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Kate Mara, Brad Paisley, Harold Perrineau, Brian Geraghty, Lance Armstrong, and Anthony Mackie just read more

Matt Got Fat for We Are Marshall

The cast of We Are Marshall was all on hand for its West Virginia premiere in Huntington.

The cast of We Are Marshall was all on hand for its West Virginia premiere in Huntington. This is the town where the film takes place. Matthew McConaughey has recently said that shooting the film was the best work experience of his life. I'm sure because the story is totally moving, but also he had to gain weight for the movie and was probably able to eat whatever he wanted. MM has been busy promoting the film which means he gets to answer lots of questions on his personal life including how he lost all of that weight. Obviously we knew the answer to that one since he was working out everyday with Lance and Jake this summer. Here's highlights:

(Also pictured: Anthony Mackie, Kate Mara, Matthew Fox)

  • On preparing for his We Are Marshall role:
"When I did this movie, I was 16 lbs. heavier than I am now. I had a big caboose and a big belly."
  • How he lost the weight:
"I got a new character that I'm playing now" – in the adventure-romance Fool's Gold, which he's been filming in Australia with Kate Hudson.
  • On ex-girlfriend Penelope:
"I just saw (her new movie) Volver, in fact," he said. "She's going to get an Oscar nomination – or she should. She's incredibly excited about that film."
  • On his BFF Lance:
"When people say to me, 'You're in great shape, you must keep up with Lance,' I start laughing. I see the back of his jersey for the first 200 yards of the ride and, after that, I don't see him again until the end."

Hopefully we'll see him and Lance back together real soon. In the meantime, we welcome pics of Matt with Matt.

Matthew's Best Work Experience Ever

Matthew stopped by GMA to promote his latest film We Are Marshall.

Matthew stopped by GMA to promote his latest film We Are Marshall. Matthew may have just been voted Hollywood's Biggest Party Animal, but he definitely shows that he can be serious when it comes to his work. He even wore a shirt and jacket to the show, a far cry from the shirtless Matt we see so often. Still, he says that he was looking for a little trouble on the set. He even thought about jumping off a bridge at one point. Here's more:

"The state of West Virginia and the state of Ohio didn't think it was a great idea," confesses McConaughey about the authorities' efforts to stop him from leaping off a bridge into the water for fun. Not that it would have been the first time he got a ticket for a silly stunt, he says.

"I do have some very funny tickets and things," he jokes. Perhaps that's one of the reasons In Touch magazine just voted him No. 1 on its list of "Hollywood's Biggest Party Animals."

He says, "We felt privileged to be able to tell this story" about a town reunited after its college team is tragically killed in a plane crash.

"It was a joy," he says. "It was a beauty. I had my most gratifying work experience I've had in my life."

Wow, that's a big statement for a man who's worked with big shots like Steven Spielberg and Al Pacino. While it's nice to finally see Matt wearing a shirt again, we think this once sexy man can still use more of a makeover. For more pics just read more

Matthew Fox Gets Into Character

Matt and Matt are making the rounds promoting their new film We Are Marshall.

Matt and Matt are making the rounds promoting their new film We Are Marshall. Matthew Fox taped Letterman this week for an appearance to be aired on Friday's show. In the film, which is based on a true story, McConaughey plays a football coach who helps a town reunite after its college team is tragically killed in a plane crash. Fox plays McConaughey's assistant coach Red Dawson who chose not to get on the plane and as a result was racked with guilt about the tragedy. Here's more:

To get to know his character, Fox contacted Dawson and flew him to Hawaii to the set of "Lost" where he was working.

"He met all the people I work with there and charmed the pants off them," Fox says. "He's been carrying a pretty heavy burden for a very long time. We talked after he saw the movie and not only did he express how much he loves the movie, but he also went on to talk about how he feels different, he feels lighter, more optimistic."

It will be really cool to see Matthew off the island and in a different role. Hopefully it will be enough to tide us over until Lost comes on next year! For more pics just read more

Matthew Fox Off the Island for New Role

Lost is on hiatus but it's a good thing because it gives Matthew Fox time to promote his new film, We Are Marshall.

Lost is on hiatus but it's a good thing because it gives Matthew Fox time to promote his new film, We Are Marshall. Matthew headed up to Canada to appear on MuchMusic. He spoke about the film which is a true story based on the devastating loss of 75 members of a football team killed in a plane crash in the 70s. Matthew McConaughey stars as a young coach who pushes to rebuild the team and help the community to heal. Fox plays his assistant coach. We love the idea of two sexy Matthews on the big screen. We Are Marshall will be in theaters December 22nd.
