We Are the World 25 For Haiti Debuts at Olympics

At the Olympic opening ceremonies tonight came the debut video for the latest version of "We Are the World." We saw the impressive group of artists including Kanye, Jennifer Hudson, Pink, Justin Bieber, Janet Jackson, and more recording a new version of Michael Jackson's classic last week, which was made to benefit Haiti. we do have to realize that the people who put this together, Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie really dont have thier fingers on the pulse of good music....Quincy wouldnt know how to put a line up of talent and MODERN singers up there if his life depended on it. As for the Auto Tune, and having thugs rapping about saving the world? someone please tell them what hypocrisy is.

I love the fact that MJ was in it with Janet, that saved the song... By the way, it's for a good cause...MJ would proved it, he would do everything for a good cause. MJ, the greatest entertainer that ever lived!

I'm just glad Kanye was there, since we can rest assured that anywhere he goes, Taylor Swift won't follow. Last thing we'd need is them dedicating half the video to one singer who's off key the entire time and turns the whole thing into a song about how Haiti broke up with her at her sweet 16 party.

dreadful. everyone was straining so much. only real voice was Barbra's. the rest were mediocre; the mix was mediocre. they should have tried harder to get a better production, no matter how long it took.

Okay idea, but the people that they had singing it were just very odd choices. A Pussycat Doll and Miley Cyrus? No, thank you. I think that they would have been better off re-releasing MJ's or something more along those lines.

#4, Angelina's the greatest Philanthropist? (philanthroper is not a word, by the way) Check out Bill and Melinda gates. They give money to charities 20 and 30 million dollars at a time. The difference is they don't feel the need to famewhore about it. That's why you don't know about it. And the reason Angelina wasn't there? SHE'S NOT A SINGER.

I agree the original was better. My favorite part wasn't even the artists but when they showed the children of Haiti. Am also glad they put MJ that was my other favorite part. I personally think he would have picked better artists if he were still alive. The rest was pretty much forgettable.

The original had HEART and SOUL. This new version has visions of $$$$ but not for the intent. Q I'm really disappointed.

I remember the first one being this wonderful collaboration of artists stepping up and saying enough is enough, we need to help world hunger. They got everyone together and stayed up all hours and came up with a song of inspiration to the rest of this country. This new version is just a sad LAZY way to pretend that the rich and privileged still care. What a pathetic attempt to win hearts. Gross
