White House Correspondents Dinner 2012 Red Carpet Pictures

Washington DC got a big dose of Hollywood glamour as stars stepped out for the White House Correspondents' Dinner Saturday. The annual event, which is being hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, kicked off with multiple preparties Friday night, and celebs were back on the red carpet for this evening's main event. Dakota Fanning got dramatic in a long-sleeve Prada gown, while Malin Akerman went with a sexy white look. Claire Danes wowed in a white Vivienne Westwood and Eva Longoria, who just wrapped the final season of Desperate Housewives, went short.

Elizabeth Banks brought a pop of color in a strapless red dress, and Kerry Washington followed suit in a melon-hued Calvin Klein. The bright looks kept coming with Alicia Keys, on the arm of husband Swizz Beatz in gold, and Kate Hudson in a sparkly purple Jenny Packham and an Edie Parker clutch. Kim Kardashian, who spent the morning in NYC with new boyfriend Kanye West, stepped out in emerald while her mom, Kris Jenner, wore crimson.

Reese Witherspoon covered her baby bump in a black Monique Lhuillier gown after landing on the East Coast with husband Jim Toth Friday night. Sofia Vergara, who was also on hand for Friday's Hollywood Reporter bash, went short and accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Lindsay Lohan made an appearance in a low-cut look after missing her first flight to the East Coast, and Charlize Theron got sexy in a lace Emilio Pucci gown.
